Surprisingly, going Pro isn't necessarily decided by the players themselves....If Onyenso can't get NIL, seems like it makes a lot more sense for him to go pro than most guys in his position.

This is using too much common sense for this boardReally can’t see the difference between Goode and us wanting and being fine with Storr. At least Goode got a degree from Illinois and was part of an E8 team that will have a banner in the rafters. Would like for him to go somewhere else, so we don’t have to play. But degree plus part of an E8 team makes him an Illini for life.
We don’t need to contact him due to the OA factor. It’s a given we’re in the huntWe have, that's wrong
The Incredible HolcYou mean Derek Holcomb ?
I was all excited when I saw there was so many new posts...Something big must be happening. Unfortunately, most of the new posts were about Derek Holcomb. Geez, people! We have serious business here, filling our roster and we're posting about somebody I actually knew in college. If only he were 45 years younger, with some eligility left, Derek Holcomb would be a great fit.@Bryce Hopkins @BryceHopkins Where do we stand with Derek Holcomb?
If I was in his shoes I would. Our defense has to be ready for him shooting lights out because that seems like something that would happen. Also you know he will make the hustles plays with extra motivationGetting measured for the circus clown pants. That alone would be enough for me to never visit Indiana were I skilled enough to play Div I basketball. Luke, listen to me, do you really want to do that to yourself? Common......
Great share. I think he’d be a great piece. Fletch/Sanderson can help him get his body ready/increase agility via weight room too.pretty good article on Humrichous: https://www.noceilingsnba.com/p/ben-humrichous-size-shooting-and
Are we sure it’s not Derrick Holcomb? No…. Derek Holcomb.
Honestly, with this whole portal situation, nothing is a given. We don’t need to contact him due to the OA factor. It’s a given we’re in the hunt
I belive it's the derrick fulcrum. Are we sure it’s not Derrick Holcomb?
Hey watch it, sonnyI had no idea I would make a certain Illini of a few decades ago into the most mentioned player in a thread about kids young enough to be his grandsons! There are far more old guys on here than I thought.
He was in my econ 101 class. This day in Illini history:
Holcomb, Derek (1984) - Basketball Museum of Illinois

Yes. Tomorrow.I am not able to keep up Reading these threads anymore. Who do we have visiting? Ben H?
wasn’t Scanlon the Prof of that class ?He was in my econ 101 class.
well said. I will root for him as long as he is not playing us.I can't help but think of how we would look if an Illinois high school star went to Indiana out of high school and then transferred back home to Illinois. We would be welcoming him home and assuring him that Illini nation would take care of him. LG is going back home (probably), getting a very high quality MBA, maximizing a lifetime of family and social connections and assuring himself that those people over there will take care of him. Seems to me like a pretty smart move and one I hope works well for him. I appreciate his time here and cannot think ill of him for pursuing his best future.

Yeah you just know they have someone there who overaggressively measures the inseam.Getting measured for the circus clown pants. That alone would be enough for me to never visit Indiana were I skilled enough to play Div I basketball. Luke, listen to me, do you really want to do that to yourself? Common......
Most of your top players dont enter the portal until later, they're doing it just as they shouldWell they can at least wait until our roster is set. That being said it would be nice to get all of our top players first and be filling in the supporting cast instead of the other way around.
