Any chance Krutwig has any eligibility left?

Is there anything preventing a school from buying up the top 5, other than dollars? I would assume some donor/donor group could write a $20M check in the quest to buy a national championship. Or is there more to it (aside from the big $ that would be required).I think the fact that his analysis is correct and that WOULD be the best team in the country by an absolute mile is pretty instructive about WHY it's extremely unrealistic that we will be stacking up any significant number of those players.
No team has the NIL riches to just straight up purchase an entire lineup of the absolute top players. Not Kentucky not UNC, not anybody. And certainly not Illinois. And those are the top players, certainly the top 10 in the portal, you could make the case they're 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Each of those players will maximize their money by going somewhere that hasn't already dedicated a huge chunk of its resources to one of the others. Simple economics. This no longer has the mechanics of high school recruiting where mega-classes had a way of clumping together, the incentives are the exact opposite.
He's not much of a shooter with ugly form, but I was going to compare him to a better passing but worse shooting Malcolm Hill. He's "Mr. Everything" the way Hill was.
Why not a fit? Holmes can guard 1-5 & shoot it. Kalk rim protecting rim runnerā¦ Jones scores at all 3 levelsā¦ Richmond utility guy who can get his.. Boswell set up guy. That ain't happenin. Not money wise nor fit wise. Kalk and Holmes together would be if KY got both Oscar and Kofi about 3 years ago. Probably a little bit of downgrade but...yeah
If weāre talking Mattoonā¦. Canāt beat the Original Burger King.McHugh's fries down in Mattoon are better
Yeah, in a mature and free and open marketplace, whatever the crazy āletās try to win a championshipā bid you can make, your competitors can and will match. They have rich and ambitious donors too, and theyāre terrified of falling behind in the arms race.Is there anything preventing a school from buying up the top 5, other than dollars? Seems like A&M tried this approach in football with their #1 recruiting class a few years ago, although the $ have likely ballooned since then.
We have a ton of $$ right now, with four open spots.
OA coming back increased the NIL a wee bit more as well
At least itās good to find out now and not have to wait a long timeDomask waiver has been denied ...
Kylan, Kadary, Jones, Hum, Kalk ...
What do we think ...
Is that owned by Tom McHugh? If so, he used to be a McDonald's owner/operator up here in Northern Indiana. I knew him back in the 80s/90s when my dad owned a few stores. Blast from the past! And yes, McDonalds fries are #1 on.my list, but I'm a tad biasedMcHugh's fries down in Mattoon are better
Except like a foot taller
Marcus Domask is David Eckstein.
This is as a good example of confirmation bias as it getsFunny how it seems like Illinois is the only program where the NCAA actually decides to enforce its rules to the absolute letterā¦ā¦.
I always love a good World B Free reference seeing how I lived in Cleveland at the Free time.Maybe our basketball coaches can fly into Miami in a helicopter to recruit some of their players.
Speaking of garlic bread.Shout out to @Dan for allowing the offseason threads to incorporate the critical analysis of all things completely unrelated to recruiting and...well....basketball.
I donāt knowā¦.. maybe donāt be so easily offended?Ah yes, Gritty is back to throw a slur at my heritage about a week after taking shots at that of my bride. Really love this guy.

Or Bezos. You'd think Princeton would be rolling in NIL from that single alum alone. One call to ARAMCO should do it.
