After the afternoon teams finished, Detry dropped to T5 (still one back), Hardy and Strick dropped down to T44 and ADdC to T60. This puts everyone except Detry outside the cut (top 33 and ties), setting up a good test on alternate shot day. Might be good news for Hardy/Riley, since they crushed it at alternate shot last year.

Hardy/Riley had four birdies on the back nine yesterday, including one on 18, to make the cut on the number. Not they sit three strokes back after a solid 65 in fourball. Detry/MacIntyre looking to surge as well.

ADDC and Strick missed the cut.

Guys all playing well this weekend! Hardy holed out from fairway round one for an eagle on a par 4. But 2 doubles for him have kept him from being higher.

ADC only Illini to make the cut at the CJ Cup. Finished-8. Detry and Hardy shot -5, the cut was -6. Hardy doubled 16 and bogeyed 17 to kill his chances to play the weekend.

Just now saw that Detry and Stricker as the only Illini to make it to the PGA next week. Correct me if I missed anybody else.

The field was released today for the PGA Championship. Thomas Detry and Steve Stricker will be teeing off next Thursday (5/17) at Valhalla in Louisville, KY.

PGA Championship Field

No Illini qualified for this weekend's Wells Fargo Championship. Hardy and ADC will be in the concurrent event at Myrtle Beach.

Stricker withdrew from the PGA Championship field. Article below, looks like he is not interested in playing big courses anymore. That's too bad - hopefully he plays the JDC again, he's been so successful there.

So it's just Detry in the PGA Championship now at Valhalla. Also KFT starts up again this week, hopefully Campbell can continue to play well and secure his return to the Tour.

Detry closes the round with a solid eagle on 18, moving to a tie for 2nd (for now)! While there will probably be some more movement in the afternoon, Thomas should be in one of the final groups tomorrow.

Second round nearly complete at the PGA Championship - suspended for darkness, but the top of the leaderboard is set. Detry currently T4 at -9 after a bogey-free second round, 3 strokes behind the leader Schauffele. Since he was first to post -9, he should be paired w/ Theegala in the second-to-last pairing tomorrow afternoon. Let's hope for a solid weekend from Thomas!
