Booth may be playing on perimeter in a 5-out offense. But I will bet my beach house that he will be guarding the biggest opponent player most of his minutes. If Coleman does not want to guard the 5, no reason Booth doesn’t solve that.
My prediction is that for most of his minutes as an Illini, he’ll be the biggest Illini player on the floor and will guard the biggest opposition player.

Fair enough. I think watching endless episodes of peppa pig while home with my sick daughter today had me in an argumentative mood. I got my fill and am ready to move on now.
The terms 4 and 5 (or 1, 2 or 3) no longer have set meaning. Coleman was the biggest player on the floor for us for a majority of minutes. Does that make him a 5? Or does the fact that he shot 3s make him a 3? Or does being 6’10” but skinny mean he is a 4? These terms have no meaning.

Knowing whether someone can guard a big or a wing or a guard is helpful for purposes of figuring out roster construction and lineups. Trying to figure out if Booth is a 4 or a 5 is pointless.
People need to stop trying to distinguish between 4s and 5s. We have three bigs in Ben, Booth and Morez. Maybe we’ll add another. They have different strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes we’ll play two of them at a time. Sometimes only one at a time. They’ll have different roles based on their...
It’s there. Your just don’t know what to look for.
Ben more of a shooter. But similar in that they’re big guys that coaches trust to make good decisions with the ball on the perimeter. Give them the ball at top of key, run a cutter off of them, and let them read the defense to decide whether to...
From limited viewing of Ben H highlights, I think Giorgie is the best recent Illini comparison. Similar size and athleticism. Can run offense through them at top of key and let them read and react to defense. Ben a better shooter, but probably less of a traditional post up offensive threat than...
Playing Ty at PG also allows the team to switch on defense against any ball screen, which is a huge reason why our defense can be so smothering. You lose that with a traditional PG.
What people are saying is that we hope BU does not sit more talented but less proven freshmen for less talented but more trusted super seniors to win early season games that may not mean much.
I absolutely think Trent and Damonte add value on the court. But we haven’t had a player with the...
