Morez is kind of a 5, til he proves otherwise, no? Booth can provide spot minutes, assuming he matches up
People need to stop trying to distinguish between 4s and 5s. We have three bigs in Ben, Booth and Morez. Maybe we’ll add another. They have different strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes we’ll play two of them at a time. Sometimes only one at a time. They’ll have different roles based on their respective strengths and weaknesses that most likely will not fit neatly into the box of traditional (i.e. 1990s basketball) 4 or 5.

Let's keep his wiener out of it. This is a family board.

Piper hasn't retweeted anything and there's nothing on 247 in general about this. It's probably true but I just want something more official.
Agreed. It’s not official to me unless the player tweets it or Illininquirer puts out the committed article, or one our insiders here say it a gif it. Lville randomly said “he’s an Illini” but not sure of the context, soooo….I’ll wait, haha!

Well yes it's true that no player fits perfectly into any positional box, but using the numbers can just serve as a shorthand method in casual discussion. Yes, lots of nuance is lost, but if you keep in mind the limitations, it can be useful just as a time-saver.

So the rumors out there are that this "mystery wing" should hit the portal any day now, and Illinois has the inside track on him. Are those rumors correct, @LvilleILL @Indy Illini Fan @DB11Headband @FI_8905 @illini0440? Hearing it from a few Illini message boards, so I wonder if there are legs to this one.

It's no big mystery. It's Memphis wing David Jones.

I don't think Jones is 100% sure what he wants to do yet.

There are a other options if he stays in the draft or returns to Memphis.

Careful folks.. wouldn't want to be accused of tampering by any Memphis sports bloggers.

Knowing whether someone can guard a big or a wing or a guard is helpful for purposes of figuring out roster construction and lineups. Trying to figure out if Booth is a 4 or a 5 is pointless.

That's kind of my point. Lots of rumors that this mystery wing (David Jones) is all but locked up IF he enters the portal/withdraws from the NBA Draft. I'm not seeing it.
