Sacrifice:
You can all thank me for my part when we will the National Championship on 4/8.

My in-person attendance record:
Losses Wins
Michigan 89 Minneapolis 89
Arizona 01
UNC 05 Rosemont 05
Loyola 21

In addition, as you can see from my avatar, I was at the 08 Rose Bowl showing additional evidence of my bad karma. I was at Game 3 of the 16 World Series (Cubs lost for you Cardinal fans) as well as the Bartman Game in 03.

Based on my long-standing multi-sport lack of success, a year ago I planned a trip to England to visit my daughter, followed by a 2 week cruise knowing when the tournament games were scheduled. You will all be happy to know I will be over the mid-Atlantic at tip-off on Thursday. I will be at sea during our 2 Final Four victories. I have done all I can to break my jinx on the team. I ask all of you to do what you can to help the team.
I think I can speak for all of Loyalty when I say "Thank You For Your Sacrifice"

I L L

I lived near Boston for a few years out of college. One of my Navy buddies was in Framingham. Loved my time there. Wish I could get over there for the game but I have a previous commitment in Oregon for this weekend. Boston is a really cool city. Fun place to drive. :)

Any intel out there as to which section is the Illini section at the garden?

If/when anyone gets any info on which seating sections at TD Garden will be Illini-occupied please post.
Just posted and wanted to make sure you saw as well. Loge 13 & 14 as well as Balcony 318 & 319

Sorry for going back to back…just want as many Illini there as possible. Hope to see you there!

Go Illini

If you spot a guy in an orange '08 Rose Bowl crew neck wearing these - I owe you a beer!

Some other ideas - The Fours (166 Canal) or Sullivan's Tap (168 Canal). Anyone up for wearing an extra orange shirt to share for UConn fans to wear after their game?
The Fours closed down a few years ago, another casualty of COVID. I used to hit it every time I was in town for a Bruins game.

Someone drink a Maine Lunch or three for me while you’re out there!
I’ve never heard of a Maine Lunch so I had to look it up. I’m not a fan of IPAs, but I found this very interesting: “Available on tap & in bottles in our tasting room. Lunch is a finback whale that was spotted off the coast of Maine as early as 1982. Her dorsal fin looks as though a bite has been taken out of it, adding to her distinctive character. We dedicate this beer to her persistence and determination.” I’m thinking this post was a sign, a portent of things to come-I liken this whale to our Illini-persistent and determined. Illini Nation, as you take over Boston, please drink lots of Maine Lunch beer, and toast to the Beloved with this dedication in mind.

Looks like Hurricane's is the pre-game meet up spot? I'm flying up from FLL Thursday after and looking to connect w/ my fellow Illini supporters.

I'm in Club Section 139 if anyone else is around there area, I'll be decked out in Illini gear and the entire stadium will hear us ROAR!

It's not a perfect metric by any means, but LinkedIn has a tool where you can search for profiles for graduates of a certain school by metro area ... I suppose schools with graduates "more likely to have LinkedIn profiles" would be overrepresented? Lol. Still probably a good estimate, proportionately. Here are the teams playing in "Greater Boston" for the Sweet Sixteen, FWIW:

UConn: 18,198
Illinois: 4,581
Iowa State: 1,732
San Diego State: 1,532

Obviously, UConn also has tons of fans in Connecticut itself that are an easy drive away. Hopefully the Greater Boston Illini show up on Thursday!!

Also just for fun, these were the top 5 metro areas for UIUC alumni:

120,487 in Greater Chicago
52,728 in Chicago, IL
45,117 in Urbana-Champaign, IL
17,055 in San Francisco Bay Area
11,710 in New York City Metro Area
