Chicago Cubs 2024

Absolutely brutal offensive series. Several guys need to find their swings again.
yep the offense has been struggling for a bit now. it's a shame we've wasted many great starting pitching performances already because we had no offense.

I think everyone other than Hoerner, Busch Tauchman have been brutal. At least Morel has slugged some.

I think the Morel at third base experiment should be over. He looked bad in the field today.

Today yes, but he has been improving this season. Has a cannon arm and has made significant improvement on the routine plays. yesterday was bad he deserves credit for being better this season, whether he a long term answer this, I doubt it, but I think he is getting close to serviceable. I would be blown away if the experiment is anywhere near over.

Glad they won yesterday but three errors and Horner was out by a mile at home and the catcher dropped the ball. The fielding and base running has not been good. They aren’t a fundamentally sound team at this point.

maybe Counsell needs to start some extra 9am practices on the weekends like our h.s. coach would do

The defense is really killing them. They were quite good defensively last year (until the last few weeks) so I'm not sure what's happening.

He might be "better", but he's still below average defensively. I'd prefer he learn how to play the outfield or become a full time DH.

They already have too many OFs as it is. No need to increase the log-jam. Factoring in bat + defense, he's still the best option at 3B.
