And now for a brief “Mutual of Omahaesque” interlude:

My daughter is a National Park Ranger at Yellowstone…you use the correct term, Bison…we actually don’t have Buffalos in the U.S.
The offspring are called “Red Dogs,” for obvious reasons…and now you know!

I sincerely hope I have not started another off-season Loyalty plunge into a side topic, but if so, you’re welcome?

*Also, if you’re wondering…both buffaloes and buffalos are accepted plurals…and yes, I teach English…did I just complete a pedantic trifecta?
Wonderful story! And such a dramatic writing style!

I'm sure you know that the creation of Yellowstone was signed into law by President Ellipses S. Grant...

Again, the reason why I'm here in April: @RabidDawgClassic pillow-talk memes and my Bethesda brother's naturalist discourses.

And, yes, my friends... I already enjoyed the bison dissertation during an Illini game TO when the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial appeared :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Now, if only Jim will wrestle a Florida Gator as Marlin Perkins provides detached commentary. (Before I typed "Marlin Perkins" I typed "Merlin Olsen" and then did quick confirmation search. This indicates how many decades it has been since I thought of either Merlin Olsen or Wild Kingdom.)

I realize that no one under 50 here likely has any idea (or will care) what I'm talking about. That's my value-add to Loyalty, such as it is.
LOL I started out as a Zoology major because I thought I wanted to be the next Marlin Perkins LOL

Not to divert the board into an entirely different direction, which perhaps we need for a day or two, but along with Couple-in-Bed memes and Portal Diaries, I write stories about our cats. (Don’t laugh… there’s a HUGE audience!) Here’s one that I think will whet your Mutual of Omaha whistle — but better read in David Attenborough’s voice.

Wild Kingdom

And while the tiny field mouse scurries away, fortunate to have survived its harrowing encounter, another predator silently awaits an unsuspecting prey. Across the vast expanse of the sun room, past the foyer and into the utility nook, a cleverly disguised carnivore lies in wait.

Felis-Wikkerus-Resize.jpg

Felis Wikkeris, commonly known as the North American Wicker Cat, conceals its presence by mimicking its surroundings. Taking advantage of the unique color-changing properties of her fur, this chameleonesque creature seeks out a woven-wood hollow and waits patiently for her next meal to inauspiciously saunter in.

Sadly for this sagacious stalker —and a stroke of good fortune for her would-be morsel — this region remains the domain of Homo Obtusis, often referred to as That Idiot Human. This lumbering anthropoid sheds its outer layer several times per day, neglectfully discarding its fibrous casings into the unlucky lynx’s hunting blind. Her advantage now exposed, Felis Wikkeris retreats to one of her many slumber enclaves where she will rest for 17 hours, then begin the process all over again.
