I really like OA. Killer recruiter & great with BIGS obviously… But in your opinion, are there some pros/positive attributes that MB brings that OA might not?
I dunno how germane it is or what it is worth. But Mike has the more successful head coaching stint for example…I assume that would be a handy asset for Brad.
In other words, what might Boyton’s biggest strengths be in that capacity?
X’s & O’s? Good with guards?

Quick (assistant coach) story as we wait for real news.
When the 05 team was headed to St Louis for the Final Four a buddy of mine got word that the team was going to a bowling alley in Collinsville.
My dad and I raced crossed town to get there. We were a part of the welcoming crowd. The team went in everyone was excited and my dad and I decided to head home. As we were getting ready to leave one of the assistant coaches walked out.
I started yelling coach Painter can we get a picture, then my dad started yelling hey coach painter. Finally he turned around and looked at us as we asked for a picture and gave a cringy smile as we said thanks coach Painter.
He said I’m actually coach Price.
Man, what I would give to see that picture again.
Kids know who your assistant coaches are!

Is that really the case though? The rumor is Chester left because his guys were getting recruited over by the modern portal ball.
I have to imagine Amani entering the portal the same day Booth commits w/ no acknowledgement of the staff wasn't an accident.
Indy (or others,) would Boynton possibly be a twofer with Javon Small coming along with him? I like that idea ... a lot!

All of us want Orlando Antigua back at Illinois given not only his recruiting chops but also the work that he can do to develop young ILLINI Big Men Morez Johnson and Carey Booth. He is a certified Coaching Big Man whisperer as we saw with Kofi and Giorgi.
However, why not Michael Boynton too? Of particular interest, although he did announce that he was joining the Michigan Coaching Staff, the move has not ever been officially announced by Michigan, so the possibility does exist. Furthermore, when the announcement was made about his joining the Michigan staff, it was specifically mentioned that the move may have been facilitated by a favorable Oklahoma State buyout of his head coaching contract, under which Oklahoma State Athletic Director Mike Holder agreed to pay Boynton 2.2 million dollars annually over the next four years.
If this is accurate, it could allow the ILLINI the financial flexibility to land Coach Boynton on a more school-friendly deal, which means that there may actually be enough money to hire Orlando Antigua AND Michael Boynton. If so, I assume that Brad would do whatever was necessary to create openings for both on his staff. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!

On antigua,...great asst coach, but not sure we enjoyed the doorway video drama right before he left.
Garrison recruitment has gone radio silent ... Came off the OU visit and was expected to commit ... They have heard nothing ...
