Even though the match had no bearing, quite a good performance by Palace with Mateta having a hat trick.

Chelsea and Pochettino part ways after a year and with Chelsea very much on the upswing.

Chelsea ownership in contention with Cardinals ownership and David Tepper at Charlotte for worst owners in sports.

ESPN announced that they've reached a deal to keep the FA Cup on their airwaves through the 2027/28 tournament. All 79 matches produced by the English FA each season will stream exclusively on ESPN+. They will also air the Community Shield match at the start of each season.

Former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui named as David Moyes' replacement at West Ham.

Bayern Munich close to a deal to hire Burnley manager Vincent Kompany as Thomas Tuchel's replacement.
The Lopetegui hire is probably as solid of a hire as West Ham could make. He's an enigma in some respects - absolutely tore through World Cup qualifying with Spain, and I think it was a major mistake to fire him when he had only agreed to take a new job after the World Cup was done in 2018. But Real Madrid was obviously a disaster and he had a spotty record with Wolves. But for a period of time at Sevilla, he was successful.

The Kompany hire (assuming it goes through - with Bayern, I have no idea if they know what they're doing right now) is the ultimate high-risk high-reward move. I think he'll actually do better in a top league with better talent, but I'm not sure if he has a Plan B. It probably wouldn't have mattered with Burnley, but he doubled down on his playing model despite the consequences. He could be another Arteta, or he could be a total disaster at Bayern. I think everything depends on how some of the veterans at Bayern view him as a relatively recent former player. That could be a benefit (hey, he knows what we're going through!), or it could be a major detriment (what in the world does he know about management when he's not that much older than we are?).

The biggest problem that Bayern has is the stain of Spursiness sticking with Harry Kane. They finished 3rd in the Bundesliga table this season behind Leverkusen and Stuttgart. They haven't finished that "low" in the table since 2010-11.
