If Ty could add anything from even 10-15 feet from the rim with confidence or some consistency he’s an All-Conference player…. Has the staff really given up hope he can do that? At least Jaylen Tate attempted some threes here and there…… Ty is an NBA player if he could even hit a 3 at a 30% clip….

I don't think so. Lets be real Ty is a solid player but he has no real NBA potential. You could take half of our team and say if they could do this or that or were quicker and more athletic they are going to the league. You could probably say that about half of D1 players. Until they actually are exhibiting the skills and athleticism that they need to get in the NBA there is not much point in conjecture about them going to the league. Ty has a certain set of skills that he is good at. Shooting is not one of them. He has never taken a shot beyond ten feet. If he had any kind of jump shot at all he would have taken one, Brad would have insisted.

Out of curiosity, how much muscle/weight has Sincere gained over the year with Fletch? Has he seen clear improvement in his strength?

I don't really think you can discount Ty yet. He does have the athleticism and versatility to play in the NBA which most guys don't have.

Would need to become a corner 3 type of guy but it's been done before.

This felt like a very lazy cut. Lots of repeat players early and often. Dalton Knecht should be SAG-AFTRA eligible with as much as he was shown.
I thought the same thing. Loved seeing Coleman in there but his second showing was just him turning around. Almost like they forgot they already put him/an Illini player in and scrambled to find a clip. TSJ diving and throwing the ball off the Morehead State player is a huge miss.

Honestly think the thing I'm most excited for is to see Harris and DGL on the court together defensively.

They're both lunatics that are incredibly quick. Harris is longer and an absolute pest but DGL seemed impossible to screen at the end of the season. I feel like they could frustrate the hell out of opposing guards.

I dunno if it’ll happen much…but I’d love to see them play together on a press…just to see what it looked like.

Agreed, DGL will end up being a really good defender here. He's fast twitch, bouncy, and willing to fight through screens. With another off-season of Fletch, those two are going to make getting into actions a pain.

I've said it all along,he's too slight of build to defend big 10 guards. Every team will try to post him up and he'll be helpless to defend them.

Sure he'll make some steals out front and may make spectacular plays but he can't cover his own man, let alone switch off to any other players.

I like his attitude, but he's not a big 10 player. hope I'm wrong, but when was the last time Illinois had a player built like him?

Dude is a shade shorter than Trent Frazier and definitely more built than TF was as a freshman.
He turned out pretty good.

I'll give you another one... Hint: same last name as the first one, enjoys chest bumps, bluffing, and coaching.

um...no. taller rangier way better built. hope I'm wrong! No way could DGL have scored 10+points per game as a freshman... Much different body type...DGL is superathletic, just of slight build.
JMHO...

The case against Arterio Morris was dismissed and that started a little before Shannon's so I foresee good news soon with his hearing now one month away.
