It's probably better than whatever rerun they have on ahead of the star of the new TV season, and our game won't go head to head against more teams with a bigger national draw. At least that's my best guess.

TV might have the ability to change game times within a day, but there has to be severe limitations to forcibly moving games from one day to the next. Health/safety, university/federal holidays, academic calendar reasons make me think a school(s) has to okay a date change.
The networks pay billions and can do what they want.
I missed this earlier - he was a heck of a kicker. I remember vividly the game-winning kick he had against UW in 1982. RIP
