Team seemed to play better finishing b10 schedule 8-7 after terrible 2-6 B10 start. Nice upset of ranked Indiana team.

Tulsa will be a good test of how much we improved during the season.

They just destroyed an Arkansas team in the first round that had beaten us early in the year (by one point).
Our ladies will be the toughest team Tulsa has played yet in the tourney.

Arkansas was missing a few key starters and Georgetown missing one key post player when they played.

You are right. Just heard an interview with Shauna and she said that three Arkansas players had entered the portal and did not play in the WBIT.

Yep. The leading scorer (Scott) and rebounder (Poffenbarger) are huge losses for Arkansas. Scott had 17 pts and Poffenbarger 19 rebounds when we played them. I know a 3rd player left the program before the season but officially entered the portal in the past week. Former top 10 prospect from few years ago and committed to LSU in the last few days(strong get stronger). Arkansas averaged around 70 points a game but without them they are a different squad.

Georgetown was without 6'4 post player Scott. Pretty big hit when they have trouble hitting 60 points a game.

Illinois and Tulsa can both score. Tulsa has a two head monster that scores bulk of points and will throw shots up.

Apologies for the ignorance here, but is this tournament the equivalent to the NIT? Or is it closer to that CBI tournament?
First year of the WBIT tournament. This is the new "Big Dog" after the NCAA Tournament. The WNIT is now 3rd fiddle and get the leftovers. CBI always at the end and never uses Power 5 conferences.

Big Ten Conference Records below

WBIT-Penn St (9-9) and Illinois (8-10)

WNIT-Wisconsin (6-12), Minnesota (5-13), Purdue (5-13)

Northwestern (4-14) and Rutgers (2-16) only two Big Ten teams not in postseason

I've started exploring the list of tall (6'3" and over) players already in the transfer portal. Still more players will enter, but here is an early shortlist of names that stand out to me, with current year and points/rebounds/blocks averages.

Caitlin Weimar - 6’4” Boston University averaged 19 points/11 rebounds/3 blocks (SR)
Tenin Magassa - 6’5” Rhode Island 7/5/2 (SR) from Paris. Started career at Dayton.
Kyla Oldacre - 6’6” Miami, FL 5/4/1 (SO) from southwest Ohio, so Green may have recruited her in high school. Played 16 minutes per game for a team that was ranked during the year.
Hannah Gusters - 6’5” OK State 14/4/1 (SR)
Cameron Williams - 6’3” Michigan 7/5/0 (SR) from Chicago
Grace Sullivan - 6’4” Bucknell 9/5/0.6 (SO) from Antioch, IL
Kennedi Jackson - 6’4” Charleston Southern 14/5/1 (SR) started career at Oklahoma State
Lexi Jackson - 6’4” UNC Wilmington 5/9/2 (SR)
Brenna McDonald - 6’3” Yale 11/7/1.5 (SR)
Maya Peat - 6’6” Arkansas Pine Bluff 11/6/1.3 (SR)

Weimar was clearly the most productive.

I could see the Illini landing Magassa and Oldacre, with their ties to Green's old stomping grounds, and having a nice present and future pathway next year with Magassa (fifth year), Oldacre (junior), and Hayven Smith (frosh) as three true centers.

Gusters was a key player on a high major team, and looks kind of like Hobby on the court. Can score it, but 4 rebounds and 1 block while averaging 25 minutes on the floor are a little low. Looked out of shape. Has already transferred twice, from Baylor to LSU to OK State.
