This may come off as a bit hyperbole, but this win legitimizes this team's run. Our best wins were kind of meh, with FAU, Northwestern, Nebraska, and Wisconsin just being "ok" teams. In our big ranked matchups, we'd played close but just couldn't get the job done. We had a favorable draw in our first two NCAA tournament games, so beating an Iowa State team that some thought could be the final 1 seed is icing on the cake.

Congrats to our guys for showing a ton of resilience. TSJ with big plays. Domask was key. But for me the difference in this game was Coleman Hawkins consistently making good decisions under pressure.
Don’t want to take anything away from Iowa State, but feel like our bad free throw shooting and some questionable calls in the second half kept that close.
