The fact that we came out on top in a game where we were knocked off our game plan gives me hope in an odd way. We know what it is to struggle to a win and know we can do it again

Also, really great contributions from Goode, Hawkins, Dainja, and Guerrier/Rodgers(1st half). I feel like this was a true team effort to get through this ugly style of basketball. Iowa St really did impose their will but we deserved to win it...not them. I'm glad the free throw shooting did not impact the final result. That would've left a sour taste in all of our mouths

I was nervous because its the sweet 16 but I never felt like things would tilt totally out of control like some of the games in the B1G tourney. ISU is very good at what they do but the defense is overly aggressive to me. I see how BYU blew the doors off of them. If you have taller players to pass out of doubles you can activate a lot of great looks.
Plus everyone likes to talk about #1 offense vs #1 defense and their turnovers and blah blah blah but it's like no one ever talks about rebounding anymore. The whole point of turnovers is to get more possessions similar to rebounds.
p.s. isn't it great Bruce Pearl is stuck having to talk respectfully about the Alabama and Illinois victors.

Make free throws and open threes and win by 20. We just had one of our coldest shooting nights I can remember and still won in the Sweet 16.
Coming off the bench and hitting that corner 3 was phenomenal for TSJ. Happy for him, happy for the program.
