As Pat McAfee would say, the Illini have some absolute DAWGS on the squad this year. I was as disappointed as anyone when the TSJ news came through. But I believed then, and I still believe now, that this is a final 4 team. We will give Purdue all they can handle Friday night, and Purdue would be extremely lucky if they won that game. We have an experienced group of players. Our team reminds me of some of the experienced Villanova teams that would just suffocate teams.

I like to think Terrence is absolutely geeked watching his teammates play such inspired ball these last two games.
Every player’s minutes is determined by how they fit into the game plan with their individual strengths and weaknesses. I don’t know why Dain didn’t play mop up minutes, but I’m sure it wasn’t an arbitrary decision. IMHO, Dain’s biggest weakness is defensively. For someone with great feet on offense, he struggles mightily with navigating switches on defense. Coaches make decisions on what they see and they see a lot more than we do.

The offensive rebound was an air ball that fell right to him. On the defensive end, he failed to block out at least a couple times, one of which led to an offensive rebound where Cohawk blocked the subsequent shot.
Like I said, I thought he played well overall, but if I had to guess why he didn’t see more minutes, I would say effort on defense and rebounding.

Really? I envision Dain getting a lot of minutes against Edey. We'll see.
But yeh, if Coleman can drag Edey outside and we can play more effective booty ball, that's fine with me.

I’ve never listened to an entire Sleepers video before but wow what a listen. So very complimentary of the Illini. Like glowingly so. And they both updated their Final Four picks (last three minutes of video) and it’s a must listen for us Illinois fans.

Big time in an old school 80s/90s sort of way. Nothing worse than a guy basically smiling at you every time he gets the ball, then sheer embarrassing you through complete domination and telling you with a smirk what you already know- you aren't capable of stopping him.
Domask pretty much broke Boo out there tonight. Frustrated him to the point of getting Boo to pick up a T.

What was great about all that? Not only did he get the foul and Booboo got all pouty and got a T. He then proceeded to hit all 4 FT's.

Great insights. However, I truly believe this year's Illini team will cover the spread against the Terrapins.
Greg & Carter are a great listen, super complimentary of our team. Tyler Underwood gave them a tour of our facilities before our game against MSU last year, they were also interviewed by WCIA and have a full length YouTube video documenting the experience for those interested.
Can't say enough about this group. How do you lose an AA and then destroy a decent team by 30? So many well fought plays and decisions in this one. And the way they play together is a thing of beauty. Shades of 2005 ball movement.
I hope the guys on the bench see what team ball is and don't get discouraged. DGL, AH, are guys that can play, but need some time before they step up. Love the culture. Hope they keep it rolling.
