I think we start the season 10-14 in the B1G and end the season in the top five.

And go to the Finals in the B1G Tourney.
With what he listed? No way, the B10 is good. Only two players listed have ever even started a game and not very many for them either. Scum is loaded with 5star guys and little experience and they struggled for that reason too and they are. Loaded with young talent. Experience means a ton and that takes time. Now if Kofi and Jacob come back then possibly.

I see just fine. I don't see guys rell a group of freshman and sophomores ready to start and be a top 5 B10 team. Dont let orange glasses effect yours. Why do you feel any starters much less possess star power to be a top team for anyone in just one year outside of Belo? It would be different if we had seen some consistent play. Guys like some of our opponents will have returning like Edey, Ivey, the Iowa twins, all Michigan's freshman, and one and ilin. We have good players that can develop but they aren't going to just step in and play like Trent, Plummer, Jacob, and Kofi. They just aren't. At least not all of them. We need to have reasonable expectations. Hopefully some stay and we add some transfers for more leadership and experience. If we do add a top transfer and a freshman explodes then we have a chance.

Watched the 2nd game of Chicago St Rita on Saturday vs Link Academy (Branson, MO). Loved the effort of MJ although he was neutralized a bit by Tarris Reed (2022 Michigan commit) and ended up fouling out of the game, he plays very hard and aggressive. In 3 years this kid is going to be really really good. Right now he's a top 50-75 player. By the time he's a Senior, he will be a handful for opponents. I predict he'll finish top 30 at least when he gets to IL as long as his game evolves.

The player I came away in love with was James Brown. This kid has "IT" and can do some much on the basketball court. Plays aggressive, dominates down low and on the glass, can handle the ball and threw down some really nice dunks. This kid right now is easily a high 4 star player and can rise to a Top 15-25 ranking in a couple years.

He is absolutely a must-get IMO.

I bet there is not a single NBA Hall of Famer in there. Pretty weak effort if you ask me
Olajuwon wasn't a top 100. Was only invited to "work out" at the University of Houston. LOL

Karl wouldn't have been accepted academically. He didn't play his freshman year due to being academically ineligible.

Larry withdrew his acceptance to Indiana University, and went to a JuCo for a year before going to Indiana State.

It's not always easy to recruit HOF players...

We might get a chance to find out, but probably, as things go these days in College B-Ball, our roster will be different than what we expect, and probably better, as Coach has shown an ability to get what we need to improve.

But for the most part, I think most posters on this site know my second comment above shouldn't be taken seriously.
The first however was serious. I think we will be a young team, but will make up for youth with speed and skill and desire. That's why I said "top Five" in the League.

But of course I'm always an Illini fan first. A rational Illini fan, on the other hand, not always.

I have watched and played a lot of basketball over the past 65 years and have yet to see a team adept at passing the ball in the lane in heavy traffic as The Flyin' Illini....all of them. Watching old film of that team still makes my jaw drop.
Denny Crum said they were the best interior passing team he'd even seen!
