Come on man. A seasoned ball handler to bring it up the court not just Domask.

-4 turnovers in the last 4 minutes of MSU.
-A turnover to get them back in the game and to end it at PSU.

Cut those out & that alone gets us a share of the B10 title.

Also, enough with the post policing. It's an Illinois message board in the offseason. Of course I'm ecstatic about the season, but what do you want me to do, ask Indy for the 98th time if Storr is coming?

Things don't just happen seamlessly. There are knock-on effects. Any number of things could go wrong by adding another player into the locker room. Maybe they're a locker room cancer and it tanks the season. Maybe because we have a point guard, we don't settle on the offense that ended up being second in the nation. Maybe we don't fully unleash MD's potential. Who knows, but rarely in life are things that straightforward. Just seems like a fool's game to believe it'd be that easy.
This is the same thread that has 10 different hypothetical recruiting lineups and folks asking our insiders if we're in on every person that enters the portal.

Me positing that a PG might have altered our season for the better getting a bunch of flak when those same insiders like Indy have said that they wished Brad would have taken one is bonkers.

One has to do with recruiting, one has to do with ....... IDK for sure, maybe the season wasn't good enough?

Issue is that you didn’t say “might have”…you said not having a PG caused us to miss out on a B1G title. People have rightfully questioned that type of definitive statement with so many unknowns attached.

Domask had something silly like 3 or 4 turnovers all season in the final 2 minutes of games. He was fine. Our offense was ranked #1 in the country with him leading the charge.

I thought the PG nonsense would die at some point, but we're still complaining about it and our near 30 win season with an Elite 8 appearance ended 2 wks ago lol
This literally started with me replying to you posting about last years PG recruitment. From today.

I mean, I think people who post hypothetical lineups before players are actually in practice are also kinda crazy considering how in flux this whole process is. I've said as much. But more power to them.

Like, yes, I get it. Having a point guard going into the season would have been nice. That we didn't was alarming. That it worked out was incredibly fortunate. Ultimately, though, looking back on this season and pining over a couple more wins when we achieved the third most in program history just seems like a tough mindset. And I mean, by every indication it was a one-year thing.

Was the ruling against the NCAA that allowed transfers without sitting out a year just a temporary injunction or was it a permanent ruling.

I was just wondering if there is still a possibility of that changing.
The waiver of the one year residency requirement expires May 2nd. Anyone who enters the portal after that would require a 1 year residency following 2nd transfer.

Looking back at it I wouldn’t put it past the NCAA selection committee that they intentially put us in the same region as UConn to try and create a roadblock and make it as difficult as possible for the U of I making the Final Four because of the TSJ situation

Oh god, please stop with the conspiracy theories.

The selection committee was not and never would have been out to get Illinois.

Yes its true that someone else was already moaning about it before you chimed in.

We ended up with about the best PG we could've hoped for. 1st Team All Conf, led the #1 offense, drives a Bonneville too.
Pretending like it's either/or and that Domasks production came from the perimeter is hilarious.

He was amazing. It was an amazing year. He was an all conference small forward who was versitile enough to bring up the ball.

Why is it hilarious? He played PG. if you're arguing he wasn't our PG, then who was our PG?

Can we also please end this debate after we figure out if Domask was our PG or not?

For sure.

Excited to see what Brad & staff do moving forward. Go Illini.

Domask would never have been all conference with R J. The offense would have been totally different. He made the whole team better with his booty ball.No one will ever know who's opinion is correct.

@jamarvelous31 I’m with you on this one.

We can think this was a great season, and that Domask was one of our best players in 20 years while simultaneously thinking a handful of factors kept this team from achieving a B10 and National championship.

One of those was definitely failing to recruit a PG last year. It didn’t have to be RayJ even though that’s who the staff narrowed in on.

You keep complaining about people talking about PGs and then make me continue talking about PGs.

-Brad said at B10 media days we didnt need a PG.
-He tried Ty out at the PG, but teams took advantage.
-Domask brought up the ball, but we didn't have a PG.
-Coleman did that the year before, was he our PG in 22?

How about we just agree to disagree or something? The P&G letters are starting to break on my keyboard.

Go Illini.

A true PG in theory would’ve allowed us to play better on ball defense as well which would’ve benefited Coleman especially and probably allowed Dain more playing time - it’s not just offense.
