This is exactly what trolls do: make life miserable for those on a particular site or app. Gotta ignore them. Don't feed the trolls.

Right there with you, my friend, but I’ve been on since the early Weber days…
To put Super Illini in historical perspective, I've been reading message boards dating all the way back to the early days of dialup on AOL's "Flying Illini" board, then Brumby's Illini Board, through Scout and Rivals and 247, and never until now have I ignored a poster. So here's to SuperIllini💩! Go away.

I think winning is important and Illinois & Xavier definitely provide his best chance to win and get to the tourney next year ...

TA has remained confident on this one throughout the recruitment ...

I think coming out of the Louisville visit they jumped up to the top spot ... Partially because they have upped their initial NIL offer ...

I still think things could change again if he makes it to Xavier and Sean is able to pitch him ...

This is going to be one that I think could go multiple ways and he really wants to take his visits and then decide ...
I feel like your average college kid will go with the option that pays the most. It's easier to rationalize "maybe we'll over perform and make the tourney" than to rationalize leaving money on the table your last season.

Yet none of them knew when one of our own assistant coaches was on his way out?

Child please…
Who's to say whether they knew or not?sometimes you just don't put dirty laundry out for everyone to see especially with a coach who played for the beloved the few Insiders on this site.id actually call Insiders are right 99% of the time especially here in the Underwood era they are obviously given privy knowledge either accept or don't your call.so they missed on Ray people change there minds and as far as Tyger no one ever said he was coming here just that he had connections to TA

First, let me say that I am not, never have been, and have no desire to be an Insider. But, I do enjoy hearing from the four who post here that repeatedly pass on solid information....and yet restrain from revealing too much and state when they do not know with certainty. I also appreciate, from time to time, the occasional odd poster who stumbles across a bit of juicy information they share with us all.

Having been an Illini message board poster since the late 90s when Brumby was running the Illiniboard, it is a passion of mine to follow Illini basketball since the mid 50s. Though I am an Arizona alum who grew up dreaming of wearing the Illini jersey and likely could have, I chose a completely different path but never lost that passion.

These forums for Illini fans, in general, are mostly civil and dignified. Most of the time I enjoy opinions and information passed on by posters, but today, and a few other days, it has become embarrassing as newbies and trolls jump in. They tend more and more to represent the absurd and extreme opinions that are becoming the curse of today's civilization worldwide. They also seem to know and care very little about the game, the Illini team, and Illini hoops history. In time, they will move on and hopefully we can return to a more respectful and dignified dialog.

Nevertheless, I look forward to sharing with Pru, sacraig, AzIllini, and the various chiefs and a plethora of other knowledgeable and dignified posters in following the ups and downs of Illini hoops for years to come...I hope.

I agree 100% man. But I also gotta say this. You missed a golden opportunity for a bit. You should’ve had one response and one response only from day one posting. Your response should simply be “I am Groot”. Trust me, we’d all know what you mean and you’d have to type way less. Just a thought 🤷🏼

Tacomallini

Re: Sencire

I've been pondering how that all went down with him today.

It almost seems fair to me that if you redshirt and utilize all the resources of the school during that redshirt year, then you should be required to stay for the next year. The only way out would be sitting out a year, if player choice. Or if the team releases the player, he can transfer immediately.
I can see there’s merit to this, but the fact that Sencire was willing to give up his redshirt when TSJ was out speaks volumes about his character. Hope he lights it up the next 3 years.

Not to mention he was practicing every day with our players and certainly makes the team better due to his scrappy game. I wish we could have kept him. We are better with him than we are without him regardless of who we get (not saying he is “better” than who we get/eventually get).

Just need him to stay out of the B10, and will enjoy watching this young man progress in his career. He will be a great 4 year contributor.

He was also a freshman. Look up Coleman Hawkins freshman numbers.
Yes, but in Hawkins' sophomore season, he lost the starting job to Grandison and was tied for 5th on the team in win shares. Hawkins definitely improved in various ways in his first three years, but his overall statistical impact remained just slightly above average until his senior year when he made a big leap forward.

Booth might also eventually be great, and he might get there even faster than Hawkins. Or he might not. I don't object to bringing him on, but I'm not getting my hopes up for him to make a big difference this year before seeing if he's improved (and/or was better than he seemed to begin with).
