IU is bringing in talent and they kind of have to take a risk. The problem though is if Woodson doesn’t win next year and they miss the tourney again, he will most likely be fired and the players he recruited will most likely enter the portal next year so I would rather have our situation than their’s IMO.

I feel like there is a stud wing out there Jones could keep the seat warm for who will be a freshman in 2025 that could possibly step into an immediate starting role that also happens (from what I have read) to be friends with another stud 2025 guy already committed here…

Give me a team loaded at 1-4 plus a serviceable big man, and that big man will look very good with the talent around him. Similar to a RB with a good o-line and QB.

Both of those players were surrounded by how great their teams were especially Clingan. Ballo played on a good team and didn't provide as much as impact as those two players. Centers like Clingan and Edey are rare and Ballo ain't rare.

People are freaking out about Ballo going to IU when Woodson just trotted out a front court of Kel’el Ware & Malik Reneau that didn’t do a whole lot for them. I say go ahead and let them go 4 out 1 in. If I’m an IU fan I’m still suspicious of shooting.

Woodson would prefer to go 2 out 3 in if he had his way. And the 2 out can’t shoot, just pass to the 3 in.

Last year Indiana got a big who was the #2 player in 247's portal while we got a guard who was 84th ranked. Worked out ok for us.

We got a Shannon, Hawkins and a Domask coming in? There is a big difference in the landscape, so far this year, compared to last year. We’ll just have to see how it shakes out.

Hard to get the ball to those guys when the lane is clogged because the defense can sag off of guards who can't shoot.

I agree except about RJ. He legitimately got a shot to be a major piece as a sophomore but he just didn't improve at all.

Since then I think Brad is treating unproven players as basically we're going to continue to bring in talent and you're going to have to earn it.

Epps and Miller clearly just wanted to be the guy.

To be a centerpiece one has to have exceptional talent, as suggested in Moneyball, one has to be a 5-tool player
These players do not come along very often.

Not mad at all. Mostly feel sorry for people. Anytime you shut yourself off from people who say things you don’t like, you lose out on wisdom that they do possess in other areas.

Seems like an ignorant way to go through life.

And pray tell, what nuggets of wisdom were being gleaned from those some have chosen to ignore? All I read was negativity, and I see nothing wrong with removing said negativity from one’s life.

FWLTW, my thoughts on our portal search for a center: unless we're waiting for someone to enter the portal, it seems that we're interested in Garrison, Avila, Z, and Wolf. Garrison hasn't been mentioned for a while by anyone. Avila would be interesting as a center that you can run your offense through, but we have Boswell, and most likely he'll be following Schertz. Big Z is only a possibility if OA comes on board, which is not far- fetched apparently. That leaves Wolf. The insiders have been conspicuously not forthcoming when anyone inquires, which leads me to believe that we are indeed interested, and for reasons unknown- maybe the do not contact request- the staff is keeping the it way on the down- low.

I've read Avila also has a "do not contact" portal designation. He's not really listening to pitches. He's all but a Billiken.

Sean’s ready to get Maddox on campus …

This has been a tough recruitment and I think all 3 schools have lead at one point or another …

Our staff is confident we’re in the lead right now …

I think Louisville is out … After taking Hadley … Would very much surprise me if Maddox went there …

I think Maddox really enjoyed his visited here and I think we probably lead … We came in with a very good sell and a very strong offer …

But I’ve said it for a while … If he makes that Xavier visit, it’ll get interesting … And Sean feels great about his sell to Conwell but he’s taking that OSU visit … It’s first come, first serve over at Xavier right now and that NIL bag is legit …
