Does he still wear sunglasses? Is Tyon Grant-Foster out of eligibility?
I don’t think this was a good choice of a gif.
Indeed. There can only be so many Terrance Jannon, Seniors.how many TJS players do you think are out there?
Absolutely. One of the crazier takes that shows up each offseason on here is would we even want our generational talent on next season's roster primarily because the team who won it all had a different build. If TSJ were to be magically not allowed to go into the NBA draft this year and given another year of eligibility by the NCAA and he wants to come back to Illinois, yeah, I don't think you're going to say, "TSJ, when you lost to UCONN, we decided to build a mirror image of them and just don't see you as a good fit anymore. Sorry bro."Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread
Brea might be the best 3 point bomber in CBB. Pull him, someone like David Jones that can carry an offense, and a big body center. We would be cooking again. I'm afraid UConn is the current juggernaut. They'll bring in Brea, Mahaney, and probably a transfer yet to be announced to go with Reed.www.illinoisloyalty.com
@Rich .....I'll paraphrase what you stated: Does Illinois even want a TSJ player who shoulders the load. Uconn had a more balanced team and look at the success they had.
Oh course, the Illini would much rather have a balanced team of studs! Can you imagine if TSJ was on Uconn's team? He wouldn't have to dominate as much, and his game would be a bit different, his stats would be slightly "down", similiar to Dee, Deron, and Luther all had less mind-blowing stats, but all got the recognition they deserved.
Of course we'd take TSJ back if we could, but the point is we don't need a like-for-like replacement for him, and we shouldn't want to foist that role on a player.Absolutely. We didn't lose to UCONN because we built around TSJ, instead, UCONN beat us in spite of TSJ because their 1 thru 5 was arguably the most complete college team I've seen since the 90s and they also featured generational talent.
Simply, you want players like TSJ, Kofi, and Frank Williams on your team every year. They make you better, not worse.
Maddox has a higher NIL offer from both Louisville and Xavier....
If your asking youselves how/why.....
Illinois has two big time guys lined up. They don't want to overspend for Maddox to put that in jeopardy.

All I will say for now. Things will get rolling soon..
The plan is to add another 2 guard, wing, and 5. No Maddox stinks, but part of me wants DGL to play that role as a bench scorer. Really high on his upside
I expect the two big time guys to be a wing and big
Are those 2 big timers hinging on our next AC?Maddox has a higher NIL offer from both Louisville and Xavier....

I honestly think this board is afraid of greatness in some regard. It's very much a knee jerk reaction to overrate our roster (people were saying Sincere was going to be the next TSJ after his practice mixtape) and underrate generational, top 25 type talent, making things up out of thin air like "he's not an EDG" etc....Absolutely. This was my question. If Boynton, would Garrison be in play? If OA, are we looking at Fland or Roach and that big rim protector dude he recruited to Kentucky? Are those 2 big timers hinging on our next AC?
i would like to know from the insiders....;. is there a short list of big men we have an eye on that anyone can tell us about?
it seems with the offense we are leaning toward, this list of pretty small, not your typical big man fit. unless we have a kid
coming back?
Agreed on DGL.Maddox has a higher NIL offer from both Louisville and Xavier....

I don't believe so. Jeff Goodman stated that there are some very good guys waiting on their last NIL checks to clear before entering the portal! I imagine some of the guys we are looking at are certainly amoung them.Have these gentlemen entered the portal yet?

The initial insider statement about RayJ last year was "we're targeting better players than that".
You're right about the mechanics of free agency.
