Well they can at least wait until our roster is set. That being said it would be nice to get all of our top players first and be filling in the supporting cast instead of the other way around.
Boswell is a headliner. There will be no controversy on who is starting at the 1.

If David Jones is indeed about to come into play, we were right to wait. That's an All-America caliber player. He will likely be the highest scoring player returning to college basketball.

White is extremely under-rated because of the team he played on last year. He has a ton of talent and upside. He will be supporting cast only if he doesn't improve. I expect he will. Talented players get better here.

Curbelo should come back. Love the way he plays. I don't think he's in the portal though.

Will Illinois be his aQuaintance? 😉
I think Chin led Quaintance's recruitment to Kentucky, so I wouldn't expect him to follow OA - but who knows, I'm sure OA has a good relationship given he would have been coached by OA at Kentucky

Given he reclassified he will have to spend two years in college before going pro so there's that as well, he won't be one and done

TSJ first rounder, Coleman Hawkins second rounder, Marcus Domask 2 way deal
Personally given that basketball is such a global game and with international players & the G League guys taking up about 15 to 20 selections, I do not expect Hawkins to be selected. Many mocks dont project enough of those players.. I hope I am wrong.

Is all the talk about RJ and Curbelo just some kind of joking around? They aren't coming back. I don't know if it is some unwritten law but it seems that once you transfer out from Illinois (and this probably applies to all schools) you aren't coming back. Unless the reason for the transfer is something special, like for instance, someone transferring to be closer to a relative who is critically ill and the transferee needs to take care of the relative. Or something like that. Has there ever been anyone who actually transferred out of a program and then returned a year or two later, Illinois or others? I am guessing there may be a few over the years but I doubt there were much more than that.

St. John’s just landed a center from USC. Seems like they’re out on Cliff. Wonder what happened there; when he entered the portal it seemed like he was a sure thing for Pitino.

bummer. but LG gave us everything he had for 3 years and should have our support regardless of where he ends up
I hope Luke Goode has a long and fruitful career or careers, either playing professional basketball overseas or putting that Gies degree to good use. All-around good guy. Hope for his every success.

But if he is on a Big Ten team next year, sorry I will not root for him while there.

Is there mutual interest between Jayden Quaintance and Illinois?
Seems less plausible than Boogie Fland who is very close to OA but who knows.

It also seems like all else being equal a highly sought after transfer would look more favorably on BU’s current Illinois project than a highly sought after high schooler.

In one of the previous recruiting threads, there was a link to some Kentucky folks that thought Quaintance and Fland were attached at the hip and would end up together, so maybe he'd be more interested if Fland is indeed an option.

I have to say the transfer portal has made April/May a very exciting time. Maybe even more so than during HS signing day.

I am a little sad players are not staying 4 years at one school , but very happy they are finally getting their piece of the pie.

Brad has signed 2 P5 starters - Boswell and White. 1 P5 role player 20 mpg Booth, and one mid major starter Davis. That is very good. The fact these players were good enough to cause existing roster to fear competion and transfer Jase, Sencire, Amani, and Luke is both exciting and sad. Welcome to life in the portal.

Interesting that some of our last year transfers are already on the move again

RJ ILL->Georgia->TBD
Skyy ILL->Louisville->UCLA

Sure maybe.

Given that it’s probably the same remaining years of college basketball for both, I’d take Jones and Onyenso over Fland and Quaintance though.

BU does better with more developed guys, it’s a closer fit to our needs, and I think the two college vets are just straight up better basketball players at this moment in time.

I would not turn my nose up at any of those guys though, not by a longshot. Any of them would be major cause for celebration.
