Getting measured for the circus clown pants. That alone would be enough for me to never visit Indiana were I skilled enough to play Div I basketball. Luke, listen to me, do you really want to do that to yourself? Common......

The best to you in your pro career

Seems like CH meant it. I don't expect him to come back one way or another. Hope to see you in NBA!

Is Goldin just a tough NIL negotiator or is there something more at play in him not announcing for Michigan, especially since Michigan took the Yale center?
I don't think he is a US citizen, so not sure how much NIL would be a factor.

He is IU bonded. I don't blame him since he would have gone to IU due to his family background if they offered him.

Can't get NIL directly but there are ways around it. Forgot who the player was but one of the non-US players set up a charity to build schools in his home country and the money was sent there. So while not directly going into their pockets, still can help their families/friends/communities.

In one of the previous recruiting threads, there was a link to some Kentucky folks that thought Quaintance and Fland were attached at the hip and would end up together, so maybe he'd be more interested if Fland is indeed an option.
If OA pulls both Quaintance and Boogie here, he will be a legend

I know we all want the veteran transfers - but just with those two and what we already have we would be one of the best teams in the big ten next year

I ran across a pair of those in the local thrift store recently. I almost bought them to burn them before they got out again.

Trilly Donovan reporting that Onyenso visiting Louisville this weekend. Do we have anything beyond the past OA relationship to indicate why we feel so confident here? Know OA also had a past relationship with Brea that didn’t pan out so wondering how likely Onyenso is as a target

OA coached Brea on the Dominican National Team several years ago - which was the previous interaction
OA coached Onyenso for the last two years at every practice at Kentucky and developed him into Kentucky's starting Center for one of the best teams in the country

See the difference?

Not an insider, so happy to be corrected by any of them, but based on reported Twitter visits doesn’t appear we are in the mix for either

I can't help but think of how we would look if an Illinois high school star went to Indiana our of high school and then transferred back home to Illinois. We would be welcoming him home and assuring him that Illini nation would take care of him. LG is going back home (probably), getting a very high quality MBA, maximizing a lifetime of family and social connections and assuring himself that those people over there will take care of him. Seems to me like a pretty smart move and one I hope works well for him. I appreciate his time here and cannot think ill of him for pursuing his best future.

I was with you till the last sentence.one of the best teams in the country? They were given a higher seed then they deserved and lost to a mid major we beat.but I do agree with what else you said to bad brea is stuck on blue bloods could have done some major damage here in the big ten and beyond

Yeah, understand what the connections are. But in terms of evidence of interest in coming to Illinois - so far there is none publicly available while he is showing interest in others by visiting other schools. Don't doubt that Antigua sent him a text, but need to see that the interest is mutual

Regardless of how much anxiety you have over this portal stuff.....everyone has to admit that this brings an offseason buzz that is entertaining af.

I remember off season's where I went extended periods without checking in on Loyalty. Now it's a daily must! FOMO+!!

Everything you said is correct... Expect it's Indiana. Gross

Do we think Onyenso is ready to commit way before the May 29 draft withdraw deadline though?

#297
As long as they have Woodson, I am not too worried whether they have Goode or not. s/

Perhaps I was dreaming, hallucinating, or most likely I misread something but didn't someone post (and I am pretty sure it was an insider) something about Hawkins couldn't or wouldn't enter the NBA draft because of a leg injury? I think he was going to have an operation and get it cleared up. Or can he just declare and not have to try out right away?

Also, anyone notice there hasn't been an insider post for some time now? Or maybe that is not unusual?
