just get shooters and surround 4 shooters with a workhorse like onyenso.
But if domask gets a waiver and our main offense is booty ball we need a 5 who doesnt just camp the paint.

So we could do a great job of rehab and strength/conditioning for him, and he could enter the portal without ever playing a minute for us.

In the B1G the blocks he was making on help defense turn into assists when the shooter instead passes to the man he was guarding. Probable step down from Dain.

The 7'1" part is cool, and he is athletic.
I'd like to thank Grandpa for his proper usage of "B1G". It shouldn't bug me when people type "BIG", but it does. That's all for now....

Bardo mentioned that he doesn’t want the Illini to pursue David Jones-Said he doesn’t play defense or pass the ball? Do we know if the Illini are even pursuing David Jones?

You gotta try though.

Maybe it would be better if they subdivided it into "Next Year Value Rankings" and "Total Future Value Rankings".

That's not perfect either, but it would help draw out the distinction between, like Oumar Ballo and Brandon Garrison, for instance.

But do you focus your rankings on the Next Year Value side because a kid with multiple years left can just re-enter the portal next year?

Really good question.

Either way, at least you're framing the discussion in an apples-to-apples way.

Maybe Brad discovered he has an extra year of eligibility and has decided he’s going to fill our SG spot himself.

Not the first time I've heard that about Jones. Interesting.
I watched a few Memphis games during the year. Most memorably, he balled out in the Battle 4 Atlantis game vs Arkansas. 36 pts and 5 steals. He put them on his back in that game. So, Bardo's views surprised me a bit but he knows the game better than I do

Alternative names to Onyenso popping up. Would Illinois wait on him if he rides out the draft process? Not sure.
The NBA hates guys like that these days. Interesting conundrum.

Can Onyenso hang in there switched onto a super explosive wing? Can he hold his own in PNR coverage? Those look like pretty significant challenges for him from what I've seen.

If you had to forecast now, do you think we will be excited with the roster by the time this is all done in June?
I love the candor of the framing of this question.

Not to start another tangent, but I have a funny Ray Charles story.

Ray Charles has several great songs that do directly relate to aspects of Illini roundball. Like...

“What Would I Do Without You” (Ayo, Shannon...)

“Hit The Road Jack” (Any big Illini recruits that end up elsewhere)

“Hallelujah I Love Her So” (the State Farm Center)

“I Can’t Stop Loving You” (Basketball, in general)

“What’d I Say” (Loyalty posters searching the archives)

“Night Time Is The Right Time” (Illini evening tipoffs)

“Yes Indeed!” (When Hawkins or Shannon or Goode drained another Three)

“Give The Poor Man A Break” (Brad clears his bench when the The Beloved are way ahead to not embarrass the other side)

“Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Cryin’” (Illini Nation after a tough loss the night before)

“Get on the Right Track Baby” (An Illini gunner having an off-game)

“Drown in My Own Tears” (Illini Nation when the Beloved is thrown off the Madness Dance floor)

“I’m Movin’ On” (Illini players joining the Portal or the Association or a chosen profession)

“Tell the Truth” (the great Brian Barhart’s calling of Illini sports)
