Probably not, but if one of those programs pours all of their NIL into Holmes, there’s that much less ammo out there in the landscape for the players we want. The better and more varied options in the portal, the better.

Players will follow the money.

What college basketball now needs is for the money to follow player retention across seasons, so programs are built over time with team narratives and fan familiarity with their players back into the system.

This can either be the best thing to ever happen to the sport, or its imminent implosion. Thoughtful and brave leadership is the difference between those two outcomes.
Boom! T-H-I-S.

What do you all think are the chances that Ben Humrichous will commit to Illinois after his visit? I know there is a lot of speculation that Illinois might be interested in numerous other potential transfer forwards. Is Humrichous an automatic take for Illinois? I'd say yes...because "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Take the win, the sure thing.

Like I mentioned earlier ... Some of these programs are gonna be wishing they didn't take guys as early as they did ...

Some of those schools listed have already spent their NIL budget ... So unless they get rid of a guy ... They couldn't afford Holmes ...
Is Holmes a stretch 4 or center?

I know there's nuance to be had, but if Holmes and Brea are THAT good why wasn't Dayton?
SIU only got 3rd in their conference in Domask's last year there and they also had Lance Jones who was with Purdue this past season. Sometimes it's not about the talent level but what you do with the talent. Coaching, chemistry, etc.

And DEVELOPEMENT. Biggest key. Those guys wouldn't have been this level if they stayed at SIU.

Ooooh Kalk is in the lineup thought experiments now??!! Nice!

This lineup looks super strong. If that's getable if you don't spend the megabucks on Holmes, then that's pretty enticing.

Kadary, Jones, and Kalk would drain our NIL pool ... Not room to give Holmes $1 million ...

Even getting those 3 would be expensive and only one is currently in the portal ... ;)
