I might be a little bit of one on an island with this one, but I just think we should just go get Holmes, if we are indeed "in" on him, even if that means sacrificing getting some others. At some point, it's just the guy is too good and is too good a fit to pass up. He's exactly the type of big that Brad thrives with. Best player in the portal if he enters and likely will be a AA. I don't really care what he wants, if it isn't something absolutely psychotic, and if there aren't any real other problems, think we should just sell out for him.

Was hoping to see Johnny get drafted tonight but it didn’t happen so I bounced over here hoping to see a commitment. It also didn’t happen.

So in terms of the talk of "Brad has his eye on someone not in the portal whose a pretty big name", so far we've heard: David Jones, Holmes, Kalk, Kadary. Anyone else I missed we've talked about on here or we're targeting?

One thing is for certain, I’m glad others know ball better than I do. Last offseason the insiders were saying this Domask guy is going to surprise us. I thought “yeah right”. Turns out, I know I need to sit back and trust the process instead of getting worked up and thinking we are missing on our top targets. Going to be a fun year next year.

Oh, and I’m glad @Indy Illini Fan is not actually CF and we are still getting great information from our insiders! As someone said recently, I love my college basketball soap opera.

I want him for sure. Badly. Combine him with Morez and Booth, and you've got a versatile ( I almost want to say lethal) inside game. I'd go to war with anybody with that trio.

Point still stands that when an Illinois player is involved, the NCAA suddenly becomes a strict interpretation organization. Other schools get a much more random and liberal interpretation of rules.

But when you are the first to stand up to the bully, sometimes you get the backlash.

Having watched both play I respectfully disagree. There are some similarities but I wouldn’t say they are very similar. Daron is a much better rebounder and more efficient scorer, Coleman is a better ball handler and passer. They are both good shot blockers. Daron plays much more within himself and shows hardly any emotion.

Holmes would be insane, he’s not just a scorer, he’s highly efficient and rebounder/ shot blocker- the full package. I don’t know that we have any connection to him but we’d have a great sales pitch

He’d be the focal point of our offense and working with OA who gets big guys in the league. Brads offense fits his skill set to a tee. If he wants to play for the number 1/2 offense in college and raise his draft profile there really wouldn’t be a better place for him. All the other places that would throw money at him will have other big bag players that want to get theirs as well. We’d surround him with shooter and a pass first PG that would allow him to really excel.

With him and Ben H- it would also mean there are a lot of SGs we discussed that would fit really well- it wouldn’t have to be David Jones/a star- just a good all around player who can shoot the three well
