Not being critical of you so much when I say this, but I find it funny that so many people are acting like our roster turnover is somehow a normal thing. Its not. Totally different from a few years ago. And not even normal for the majority of teams in today's portal world. Especially for a team that was just in the Elite 8 and the coach went on and on about how much he loved the players. This is simply not normal and to act like there is no reason to be concerned when the team is going to have 2 players back next year (well, maybe...the portal isn't closed yet) is crazy. I don't think Brad has been nearly as successful bringing in transfers as some of you think to just sit back and assume he's got this all under control. Or at least bringing in players at this scale. Probably forgetting people(Dain should go somewhere), but last few years the impact transfers have been:

- Domask, Gurrier, Harmon
- Shannon, Mayer
- Grandison, Plummer, Payne

Obviously a good list, but it spans 3 years and nothing from that list makes me think we can suddenly create a top team in one off season around 2 holdovers. So worrying actually makes sense. Maybe it will work out, but there's a pretty good chance it won't. That's just being realistic.

As of this moment, this hasn't happened, but if we wind up with none of our top transfer targets and wind up having to settle for our 3rd/4th choices, that will be an indictment of our coaching staff. I'm not here trying to throw shade at our coaches or trying to judge this transfer portal incoming group prior to its completion. Just objecting to making excuses for our staff for not succeeding at their jobs. All reports I've read indicate that we have plenty of NIL. There is no reason we shouldn't land at least one top transfer target given the season we just had and our facilities, resources, and the conference we play in. If that's what happens, it WILL indicate that Brad and staff fell down this off season.

Brad lands Boswell, and two former top 50 kids ... And brings back Orlando freaking Antigua ...

And everyone on here acts like he's been sitting in freaking Cabo drinking Coronas all day ...

Geeze… so many people here see the frame of a house under construction and say “that won’t keep the rain out!!!”

Let the workers do their thing. If come November, the frame is still all that’s standing, THEN feel free to panic.
Of course, this November there were still people who insisted BU failed because we didn’t have a PG… followed by him figuring out how to make that that headless monstrosity into the most efficient offense in the country…
We have some dang good coaches. We will be fine.

We shall see.

Storr and Co. weren't that eager to come here, but that's the business we've chosen.

Storr ain't ever been anywhere more than a year since he got his drivers license ...

At what point does some of that fall on the kid ...

Brad gave them the final offer ... They said we'll pass ... And we moved on ...

Ain't paying AJ Storr more than we paid TJ ... Brad couldn't stomach it and IMO if he did ... I would've had some concerns ...

Think it was best for everyone he didn't wind up here ...

They are being paid, yes, but they are not being paid by the entity that profits off of their labor, the NCAA. Instead the situation is closer to that of a glorified waitstaff being tipped (ever more incredible sums) by donors because the employer doesn't pay them at all. The NCAA is running a fantastic con. It won't last forever, but it is glorious.
NCAA is more of a pimp than restaurant owner.

I was thinking...maybe Coleman sees the Center pool drying up and didn't think we'd get one, or Daddy Brad and Co said so. He wanted no part of playing the post again and why he is all in on the draft now. Old news, I know...

Where exactly does my post indicate that Brad was "sitting in freaking Cabo?" Are you honestly claiming that the current group is sufficient to contend for a conference title? Boswell is a good player and a good prospect. The problem is that our rivals at the top of the conference have landed players and prospects who project as better difference makers. If we land no other top level players, for me, it isn't good enough for a coach who is compensated as well as Brad with the facilities, conference, recent success, and NIL that I understand we have at our disposal.

I'm fairness, he has a LOT of holes to fill to field a contending team again. Sure, it's still relatively early, but next year's team is a massive mystery right now.

I'm very much spitballing here, but the idea is that the conference, via the TV networks, creates a pathway for purchasing the NIL rights of the players that's separate from the Universities (given that this revenue is for broadcasting the players, there's a degree of truth in that).

And players would still be free to sell their NIL on the open marketplace (which means totally unregulated pay-for-play as we can see), it's just that players in those conferences would get that extra leg up, enhancing the advantage most of the programs in those conferences already have anyway.

I'm not certain antitrust law would allow this, but you could make the case with a straight face, a privilege the NCAA has lost.
Thanks. I’m still struggling with (but not obsessing over) the whole concept of pay for play … because, at this level, without the platform provided by the schools, most of these kids would have to pay to play.

That is exactly what Brad would have been saying to AJ after half our games next year ... IMO ...

Does the kid really love the game ? Or does he love cashing those NIL checks ...

What I am hearing out of Kansas is that AJ is going to have quite the time at Camp Self this summer ... Gonna find out how seriously he is about getting better and taking it seriously ...

And even having to have that conversation about kids ... Makes me want to find 13 guys like Trent, DMFW, and Feliz ... And just going to war with them ... Win, lose or draw ... You know you never have to question the care or effort ... Leave it all out on the floor ... Every Day Guys ...

He's been overrated this whole time, but we're still badly in need of some of the traits he brings.

Point is though, we are going to be paying kids who don't deserve it more than TJ or we're going to be losing. Welcome to an inflationary marketplace.

That's not true at all. Nobody says he isn't working hard, but this isn't little league--all that matters is results. And I agree that IL is better off without Storr. But once that ship sailed, we can't afford to miss on all the plan B guys too--Maddox, etc.

From what I understand from L’ville fans, Tre White might fit your criteria.

All I'm saying is its hard to call a kid out for this and then when Brad recycles his whole roster just strike it as get with the times.

Just the truth. I'm cool with both doing it want to win, just calling a spade a spade.

Not sure I understand what you're saying ?

I'm saying AJ doesn't love the game ... He doesn't care about winning ... He cares about himself and getting paid ...

If you think Brad doesn't care about winning ??? I don't know what to tell ya ...

I am baffled by how many people are concerned or complaining about the major turnover. It was expected! 4 out of 5 starters from the Elite 8 team graduated, while the fifth (Ty) is sticking around. The majority of transfers out were never going to realistically be key assets for next year's team.

Brad and Co have already brought in some high end talent that will be around for multiple years (and most better than those leaving), and he is not done yet. The portal has not even closed yet!
