Just to make sure I’m caught up, we’ve passed these yearly offseason stages:

1. Insiders preach not worrying about the roster while naming a large number of top talent players in the portal IL coaches will pick and choose from.

2. None of those players sign with IL, but the insiders preach trusting the process and that there are still plenty of good players available.

3. Insiders turn on the players they mentioned were coming to IL, and now say IL is better off without those players.

How many weeks away are we from the stage where insiders guarantee the 1 player left in the portal that can plug a roster hole is for sure signing with IL? That is of course followed quickly by denial, acceptance, and then Ty Rodgers playing out of position.

I agree with you and how you build your roster wins game. If you spend a ton on one player who was good but not great last year. That strategy works and The coaching staff has to make sure he is willing to put in the work and has the right mentality

What do TSJ Trent Frazier DMFW Ayo all have in common. Hard work ethic and determination to win. They won us a lot of games. I trust BU and how he has built his roster in recent years. I think he learned what has worked and what has not.

AJ did not come across that way when I watched him play and it could have been him the system or something else.

That's not true at all. Nobody says he isn't working hard, but this isn't little league--all that matters is results. And I agree that IL is better off without Storr. But once that ship sailed, we can't afford to miss on all the plan B guys too--Maddox, etc.
Attempting to evaluate the results before they've come in is nonsensical.

I can say with certainty the insiders don’t always agree with Brad…and, in my opinion, Brad has earned more trust from all of us, after the season he just had.

If it’s followed by hanging a banner and winning multiple tournament games, I’m all for it.

Or……insiders pass nothing of what they are hearing, there is no news to talk about, and we all hibernate until October or hit the football news.

The current MO is more interesting, to say the least.

I hope people continue to sleep on Tre White ... Kid has NBA written all over him ...
I’m not here as much as some of you, so I admittedly may have missed something, but I don’t think people are sleeping on our adds as much as lamenting our losses. It’s just that when the losses were first announced there was more optimism than there is now.

It’s April 29th and we have 8 players on the roster. Only 2 players remain from the ”togetherness” team that turned the tide for BU in the tourney.

It’s human nature for people to wonder wtf just happened, and not be as optimistic as they were a few weeks ago.

That is exactly what Brad would have been saying to AJ after half our games next year ... IMO ...

Does the kid really love the game ? Or does he love cashing those NIL checks ...

What I am hearing out of Kansas is that AJ is going to have quite the time at Camp Self this summer ... Gonna find out how seriously he is about getting better and taking it seriously ...

And even having to have that conversation about kids ... Makes me want to find 13 guys like Trent, DMFW, and Feliz ... And just going to war with them ... Win, lose or draw ... You know you never have to question the care or effort ... Leave it all out on the floor ... Every Day Guys ...

I think this off-season approach should lead us to retire the EDG montra.

Yeah, and if the knuckleheaded doomers and clickbait-generating grifters don't knock it off, we won't have cooperative insiders any more. There always seems to be the few sociopaths hell-bent on ruining the fun for everyone.

I'd like to thank all the insiders for their attention and their patience. I don't know how they put up with you people. Us people, I suppose, I'm guilty of it as well. We are all broken. I-L-L !

I'm seeing a fanbase that's in the transition phase of coming from the disastrous results of latter Weber and Groce to a new exciting pace of recruiting ....the left over disappointing mindset of all those misses are bogging down the optimism that SHOULD be coursing through our recruiting thoughts now.....

It's going to be hard to change a lot of Illini Nation's emotions after all those years of troubling news of poor roster moves and subsequent poor seasons....

I , for one, am excited to follow the recruiting trail now , as we have had a recent past of wins in recruiting that has fortified my belief in BU and staff.....now OA is back with the Illini, so I expect great news coming our way soon.....

I'm an Illini fanatic through and through....Always have been....
Always will be.....and I am loving the past season and being one of the last 8 teams standing last season....

Relax and enjoy the trip, man.....it's the only way to fly.....

Optimism reigns in my mind...pessimism never had a chance with me.....

It really really didn't.....

JMHO.....

So does anyone have an idea of the number of players that will pull out of the NBA draft (do to either not being drafted or being 2nd or 3rd round) and will enter the portal??? That could have some significant implications

Pretty disastrous offseason. Two returnees, whiffed on the top targets and resorting to now calling a third team in third year that played for the disaster that was Louisville with a smaller role than Sky Clark an nba prospect, which is pure cope.
