What is the deadline for players to withdraw from nba draft and return to school or enter the portal???
And to be clear, they have to be in the portal by May 1, they can't enter the portal after the deadline just because they were in the draft process, a number of players are in both, Great Osobor, Garwey Dual, of course Bronny James among some notable names.

Will always be an Illini, but I have a real tough time seeing this team right now and understanding how we didn't/don't have minutes for Goode or Dainja. Year isn't here and I know we're not done, but I'm just having a hard time seeing it.

There are obviously minutes for Goode or Dainja. Evidently they aren't the minutes that Goode or Dainja wanted. Best of luck to them.

I'm done doubting Daddy Brad. He has a plan. It might not go exactly as planned...but plans never do. Every plan changes immediately when you meet the enemy. Even the very best plans executed by the most competent executors.

No matter what happens think we will be fine. Boswell, White, Booth, Ty, and Morez are all top 50ish or better prospects each with multiple years left. Lots of talent on the roster already, with 5 more spots to fill and a lot of NIL to spend. Plus what looks to be a difference making frosh coming in 25-26.

If we strike out on a mystery wing we will have plenty of $$ left to fill out the rest of our roster, and while the ceiling won’t be near as high, I wouldn’t hate watching a youngish team grow and develop together. Keep as much of the band together as you can and try and take a leap on 25-26.

Still hoping for some difference makers and another shot at a league title and deep tourney run next year but even if we don’t hit that we will be fine.

Not trying to doubt him a bit. Not a single fan here can argue with what he's done and what he will more than likely continue to do, but who other than Dain right now would be getting minutes at the 5? Before it's said, yes, I know we're supposed to be adding one, but at this point in the game, hard to understand and see how he wouldn't be our starter...

Hate that I forgot, but I am definitely okay with Rez playing minutes at the 5 and at this point, a lot of them!

I don't see why it has to be some grand narrative judgment about BU to go through this incredibly new and chaotic environment and assess it as a learning experience.

Dainja, Storr, and Dante Maddox are three different types of situations and in all three we said "eh, the price isn't right, we think we can do better". IF those were bad decisions (we don't know that yet), that doesn't mean Underwood is an idiot and we need to get rid of him, any more than our forays in trap-happy defense his first two years here meant he was an idiot we needed to get rid of.

BU learns. That's his greatest strength as a coach. And what I find interesting and enjoyable about following the team on this board is learning along with him. But that necessitates looking at things as they are, not making every question a referendum on who has "faith" and who has "doubt".

(And I can't help myself with this, but don't pretend I haven't seen what some of you "faithful" have said about BU in game threads and coaching carousel threads)

I too would enjoy seeing that happen but I honestly wonder how likely such an occurence might be given the current transfer rules and NIL-offers held out in the name of schools across the country.

I guess the obvious answer is that we will find out over the next few years, unless maybe the rules of the game-behind-the-game (transfer, NIL) change.

Here is my take.. if anyone cares! All these other schools throwing around big NIL money already.. once these NBA players declare to opt out and go back to college, we can have our pick of the litter!
Other big spenders are even worse off right now than we are - Arkansas has like 4 players on their roster as of now, Kentucky only has like 6 players

The point is there are schools that are even more desperate than we are - but I agree there should be less competition for the guys that drop out of the nba process in mid May

Whoa.... I am just asking if maybe there was more to the Dain situation than just minutes and money? Throwing out ideas, starting conversation, bored at work, yada, yada. Well aware it's a new world out there and we're all along for the ride and learning along with the staff. Been a fan before, during and will be after BU. Please don't attach that last sentence you stated along with one of my comments because this does not reflect me what so ever.

Did anyone ever think that it may have been their choice to leave. I have a hard time with it to. But Dainja got a nice little bag.

Toppin is really good. I’d imagine bringing him in wouldn’t make Morez too happy. Also nothing to back this up really but I’d imagine he goes to Texas considering he’s from Dallas and they just missed on Garrison
