Can’t blame a guy for not wanting to sift through pages of bad takes and off topic rants just to find a useful nugget or two. We need to enlist chatGPT/AI to scrape this board daily and provide a summary, with order of the summary being dictated by number of likes.
Who is savvy with AI and can make this happen

Chaz Lanier - He is a BUCKET. Would love him here. How much are we "in" on him?

The only guy left in the portal that's on Brad's radar that we can immediately count on to be that "star wing" IMO (assuming Kadary goes to St Johns - highly likely).

I think Tomislav is actually more proven in general. In his league there are a number of guys who have played in the nba at some point in their careers. He can also stretch the floor which is a major plus at any level
True, good point. I think there's always just the unknown of how a guy might translate in any big move like this, but he's for sure not your normal college freshman coming in. Just huge upside - I'm super excited that it looks like we're getting him.

Oh, and I'll just add - I can see why NBA people are higher on Big Z over Tomislav because of his mobility, but it wouldn't shock me if Tomislav actually ended up the better college player. Of course, WAY too early for anything more than wild speculation, but Tomislav's extra strength and paint presence might actually translate better to a game with no defensive 3 seconds and no 5 second back to the basket rule. This is probably my orange-colored glasses speaking, but I'm excited to see what happens with him...

Most of the talk on this board has been Tomislav and Demin as of recent. Why not Hugo Gonzalez? Seems pretty much just as pro ready as Demin to me.

We're targeting him too right?

I can see it now. Illinois signs 7'0" center Tomislav Ivisic (Croatia), 6'6" guard Kadary Richmond (Seton Hall), and 6'4" guard Chaz Lanier (North Florida), keeps one scholarship open, and becomes a top 20 team next season, maybe even top 10.

But Richmond is rumored to be a strong lean to St. John's, and Lanier, the best shooter left in the portal, is being pursued very hard by some bluebloods. Another top shooting guard, Cam Christie (Minnesota), apparently doesn't have much if any interest in the Illini.

So, I'd still be happy if Illinois could instead sign the following two wings/guards: 6'5" guard Wooga Poplar (Miami) and 6'6" guard Sion James (Tulane). I think those two plus Ivisic might also help make the Illini a top 20 team next season.

That 13th scholarship would be available if someone like Egor Demin (Russia) somehow decided to join the Illini.

Poplar and James and Toma do not make up a top 20 team. Maybe around 30
