Poplar and James and Toma do not make up a top 20 team. Maybe around 30
Difficult to say. Based on the portal guys we were bringing, this past year's team didn't look like a top 10 team. But the players obviously developed chemistry and played together well and we had an excellent year.

Very hard to predict the synergy a group of players will have or how guys will respond to new teammates.

I can agree with this. Chemistry is huge. Probably not a top 20 talent wise but hopefully they can develop that chemistry to become a 2nf weekend team.

I would imagine, given Orlando Antigua was his brother's position coach, and he's now here in Champaign, our chances are pretty decent. Unless of course Zvonimir didn't like Orlando. But how is that possible?
Makes sense. But none of the Kentucky portal guys came on as some thought would happen.

How soon do you see that one being wrapped up? (whichever way it ends up going)

Also, are we still going hard after guys like Richmond and Lanier and Poplar etc? If so, who?

Thanks. We've had consecutive years where preseason prognostications turned out to be inaccurate because of chemistry. One good. One bad.

I think BU was more willing to gamble on high upside guys that had questionable work ethic previously. Like Bardo said in the clip shared earlier today, he’s looking for guys who are willing to be coached hard.
The book is out on BU. These guys know they are going to get MF’d and benched if they don’t hustle. I love the upside of this roster. Assuming Tomislav is in, and we pickup a couple other ball handling/ scoring types the sky is the limit.
We have seen Brad’s ability to change styles based on what skill sets with which he is working. It’s going to take a bit of time to jell. There should be enough ingredients for a pretty tasty dish by Christmas.

I think many posters are underestimating how good our 5 transfers (so far!) really are. Carey Booth, Ben Humrichous, Tre White, Jake Davis, and Kylan Boswell: Brad and the coaching staff are bulding a TEAM! These five players have LOTS of upside in my opinion. Add in Ivisic, Poplar, and Sion (plus Morez and DGL), and I think Brad can blend them into a top 20 team, especially by the 2025 portion of the season. And if Demin signs with the Illini? Top 10 team!

I agree. I think if you add a guy like Poplar and the Euro big we are firmly a top 25 team.

Now, do i think both those things happen? I do not.

But, but, according to torvik rostercast we're ranked 53! Waaahh!

I think you are correct. I trust the staff, and I trust our insiders who are literally relaying to us the value seen in the newcomers by the staff. There is no algorithm smart enough to even scratch the surface of what the staff sees in this team.

Not to be negative but this scenario could be "good" but don't know if it can be "great", like this year. Now...you don't necessarily have to be great but you know...

We need a star wing. In this scenario we don't have one. Now one could def. develop into one (Marcus) but there's no one you can immediately count on to be a All BIG 1st team, possibly AA type of guy. Afraid we swung and missed on some of those guys (Storr)...but we shall see...

Richmond is going to St Johns. Would love Lanier though. Think that's more likely than people think...but KY is on him and so is TENN...

Joel Goodson

ties will be resolved
Am assuming Ivisic is effectively done, just hasn't been announced yet. VG and necessary get.

Which brings us to the key piece, an alpha wing. Don't know what's going on with Demin, but I do know that Geoff's been on him for awhile. Wooga or Richardson would be great, no idea where we stand with them.

You mean Richmond? Richmond is going to St Johns. Wooga would be a good add and will be a quality starter wherever he goes but doesn't fit the "alpha wing" imo. Think a guy who does, although don't really know where we stand with him, is the dude from North Florida. Think we should make a push for him. Demin could develop into that but he's a young freshman coming over from overseas...

Other than that...it seems that's pretty much it for the "star wing" topic
