We need to understand the kid is going to average 14 ppg at the absolute best. Asking him to be our best player is foolish

The expectations are never out of check. We're bringing him in as a guy with sky high potential and to be a high quality piece for us - but we're never expecting him to be that All BIG 1st team, AA type of guy.

a key thing about Ivisic is that he's 20 in August, not a 18 yo prep star (with all that entails). I encourage fans to view his clips: while not a finished product, there's a stuff-ton to work with there

Duke brings in 3-5 five stars every year. And they haven't done !!!! lately. I think it's silly that kids are (still) lining up to go there. After you add so many five stars it seems like the returns on each one diminish. Or even turn negative after so many?
UConn on the other hand, they seem to get it right. If I was a college coach, I'd look at who UConn is after and go after those guys.
Consensus seems like a stretch. There was a comment that he followed Duke's coach on Instagram, but that's about it. We'll see what happens, seems like there's a lot to sort out still, but would be great if it works out.

Assuming it all comes together…Demin would be an 18 year old freshmen at the start of the season, but Ivisic would be a 21 year old freshmen in terms of eligibility, if I’m understanding that correctly. Like that a lot both short and long-term.
Also, establish Illinois as a high profile program with international recruits similar to Gonzaga and Arizona.

All I have to say is I’m insanely high on Egor Demin. Real Madrid is one of the best places for future pros to develop, and I’ve already gone over how unbelievably his raw ability is. I genuinely think if we were able to land him, we have final 4 potential. I know freshman don’t have the same impact as previously with COVID seniors and transfer portal, but we’ve seen what NBA ready freshman (especially in a NBA class as stacked as 2025) can do on teams. I can see him having the same level of impact as a Brandon Miller on Alabama.
A lineup of Boswell-Demin-Rodgers-Humrichous-Ivisic is stuff of nightmares for teams deal with. You can play 4 out with ivisic as a paint threat and ty rodgers as a cutter (a la Denver Nuggets with Gordon and Jokic) and have 1 large wings with Humrichous who’s one of the best 3pt shooters in the country and Demin who would be able to fill every role. Boswell would feast with the amount of threats as well and a pure PG is so perfect for this spot

It seems as though they are going to the wall to try and get Denim. Doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t trying to get Richmond, but it might indicate what they think is more likely.
I assume trying to answer that question is like trying to hit a bunch of moving targets. The answer depends on how things look that particular second. I can’t imagine the coaching staff is getting a lot of sleep.
It’s no longer amateur athletics. It’s full blown professional sports. It was always a facade that it was kids going to college to get a degree. I want all of this madness to escalate as I see that as the only way to bring it down.
