Shoots it a lot better than Harrington ever did and he's 6'6". He's Goode size but could be a better version. IMO

Oh really!?? Means 3 more transfers/commits, then right? (Nico would count as 1 of those)No if Nico comes back there won’t be an open spot.
Hopefully we get Egor then, there aren't any difference makers left

Jake brings something that we haven't had in years, and that is come off the screen, catch and shoot. We have had spot up shooters in the past, but it has been a long long time since we have had a guy that can come off a screen and knock down a 3. This offense will be different, with less ball dominate players. The screen and roll/flare with Big T and Jake being able to come off screens and knock down jumpers, don't sleep on the minutes Jake will be getting. Shooting is still the great equalizer, and from all the film of Jake I've been watching, I think he will get his minutes if he keeps shooting it well. As for defense, I'd sacrifice some of that with a guy who can shoot it at a 40%+ clip. It seems pretty evident that offense is our priority, we just need to hold teams under 80, because we are going to score 85+ with BU at the helm.
...Or Coleman...I suppose then right...?Only way Brad takes 13 guys is if Nico decides to come back ...
The block sequence at 1:10 of the Youtube video was quite impressive.
Just saying I like his chances. If you can shoot it, there will be minutes. BU is all about scoring, and despite the difference in leagues, if you can shoot it, there can be minutes found. He could be a diamond in the ruff is what I'm thinking. I really like the addition and the fact that it's been since...maybe Brandon Paul since we've had a guy that shoots it off of screens, it makes it somewhat enticing. Plus, he's 6'6", so it's a size that he can rise up and shoot it over smaller defenders. I think he's a sleeper, but you maybe right, BU likes a 7-8 player rotation and he may not pan out. I just think he's a sleeper and maybe like Domask last year. The Big Ten is a much different conference than the Southern. Who does Davis play over?
Underwood has always played a 7-8 man rotation, that isn't going to change all of the sudden. Guys we know will get minutes: Boswell, Ivisic, Morez, White, Humrichous, wing still to be named, that's 6 already and there are still Rodgers, Booth, backup PG, DGL. I just don't see Davis getting many minutes outside of the non-con schedule.
I wish Brad would just focus on getting more top tier vs a bunch of mids. Historically Brad doesn’t go much more than 8 deep so why then have/pay a roster of a bunch of mids that will never see the floor? Maybe he’s planning to open it up a bit more? Specially I’m referring to Tre and Carey. I feel we would have been much better just bundling the NIL for both of those players to get one stud. Very little point in have a really deep roster if you are not using it, barring any injuries.
Thanks. Still very interesting. Wondering what type of player the 12th guy is (assuming 11th is a starter wing, and the 13th is Nico)Only way Brad takes 13 guys is if Nico decides to come back ...
Everyone is a one-year player now. It's not just about 2024-25. They can't keep spending millions for one-year players.
Brad is bringing in EDGs not just a bunch of mids. A roster of 12 or 13 can't all get a lot of minutes, but they can all work together to make each other better. With the addition of a few more teammates like those brought in so far, what a team, what a competitive practice, what potential. Marcus was a mid from a Mid. That worked out well, didn't it?I wish Brad would just focus on getting more top tier vs a bunch of mids. Good backup PG. Can handle the ball, makes good passes and can hit the open 3. Undersized so limited on defense. 5 minutes a game to give Boswell a break. Would help maintain BTT champs elite 8 history and EDG culture. JMO - I think its worth a little NIL to help him come back. Every year he works with Fletch he is going to improve.Hearing rumblings Nico Moretti might return to Champaign
I strongly agree with this conceptually, that allocating an NIL budget should prioritize the biggest assets and there's no point in treating roster spot #13 the same way as roster spot #1, and I think it's going to be an adjustment in the way we look at college basketball.I wish Brad would just focus on getting more top tier vs a bunch of mids. Outside of Jake, Jakstys, and Nico (if he comes back) I honestly can't think of one guy we've added that you'd even have an adequate argument by labeling them as "a bunch of mids that will never see the floor."I wish Brad would just focus on getting more top tier vs a bunch of mids.
