So now that it has been brought up again, anyone think that Fears reclassifying is a legitimate possibility? I know that in the fall it seemed that he and the family both were set on 2025, but things can change. Any insiders insight is appreciated!

Well, if he was even considering reclassifying, that means he was decently close to the requirements to graduate. I would think it would be pretty easy for him to finish up in December.
If he did do that, he would likely red-shirt the spring semester. Getting a whole spring with Fletch, going through film, and hanging around the team is invaluable to his development.

I don't think that there is really any other possibility as to who would realistically come mid-season that insiders would already have knowledge about.

So to me, the fact that it is being brought up means it is 100% possible.

While I agree, strength can be added and getting comfortable with the system could be beneficial, I don’t see why in this day and age he would use that spring semester just to do those things. I believe Coach would begin to play him straight away as the back up point guard and would probably feel pretty comfortable with him by the end of February.

Ya I didn't realize he would be eligible to play mid-season... He probably won't last 4 years in college so redshirting or not wouldn't make a difference...

Can we let these kids be kids? I love how fans like to pretend they care about what's best for the players but in the last 24 hours we've rationalized the benefits of skipping their final prep postseasons (not to mention life events like prom, graduation, etc.) while a minority here have declared arguably the greatest program ambassador since Dee will be dead to them if he plays his bonus Covid year elsewhere.

I have no clue if a Fears reclass is academically possible. But if it is, I'd advise against it. Jeremiah is definitely good enough to play high major ball, but having another year to get stronger and even more confident is the right path, IMO. What's the rush?
What about a January enrollment and redshirt?

These kids are making mega money, so theoretically they are no longer kids. They have to make adult decisions and grow up sooner than they probably should, but that's the nature of this beast. If they are now employees, we can no longer coddle them, unfortunately, they have to grow up and be treated as such!
