Dariush has a long history of just parroting what he reads on pay sites. With a dose of just making things up out of pure, unadulterated optimism.

While I agree another true ballhandler would be great, Fears is not a depth piece, he will play a ton of minutes from day one IMO.

Feel like Fears would simply be a redshirt if he was Jan enrollment. Would offer some benefits such as getting him 5 extra months of practice time and spent with Fletch but no reason to try to force him into spot minutes at mid season. Also hidden benefit of him enrolling early would be that he couldn't decommit after the transfer portal ends like incoming freshman can.
Boswell, Demin, and DGL is plenty of guards. Plus Ty, Tre, and even Hum can handle the ball a bit. Wouldn't hate another addition but wouldn't necessarily want fears to reclass and most kids that does struggle when they do.
I said it weeks ago and I'll say it again. White with the right coaching has A LOT of potential. You are dead on! Hummer also seems to have that ability!
Agree. White actually had pretty decent efficiency numbers (almost 46% from the field) on a pretty horrid team. For reference that’s about what Marcus shot during his time at SIU and his season here. At 6’7 I think he’s a prime candidate for booty ball. Less crafty than Marcus but looks to be a much better athlete. Between him, Ty, and Ben we should be able to exploit mismatches and either score down low or find shooters.
We are a piece away, but I’m confident we will get a good wing. Maybe not a home run but a solid double at least. I love how the roster is coming together. Very little overlap/redundancy between the skill sets of the additions.
DGL would be the backup PG next year. If Demin comes, it wouldn't be a disaster if Boswell gets hurt - we put the ball in Demin's hands and he runs point.
This is the beauty of next years team as currently constructed - lots of flexibility in the lineups and we're not overly dependent on any one player. You never want to lose a starter, but it appears we'd be equipped to pivot as well as anybody
Not sure if this has been asked before, but can we have a de-commitments and transfer out/entering portal list with dates included with Dan’s first posts in each thread?
Given how big the recruiting threads are getting and how often new ones are made nowadays, I think it’d help keep everyone on track with what’s coming in and who’s going out and would be nice to see trends around certain dates. It gets to the point where I scan for the names from @Indy Illini Fan @illini0440 @LvilleILL @FI_8905 and that still takes time after going through 20+ pages when I get time to check the threads
Curious what y’all think or if it’s too much for a summary first post

If Fears reclasses, and we land Egor, I think we should be done with the portal. That would make a really talented 10 deep.

Morreti isn't a "piece" imo, If he came back, he simply wouldn't play. Indy said so and it makes sense why it will likely be true.
