They sold the gold plates. I bought them. I can't show them to you, however

I just don’t want to see some spin a couple months down the line on why Ty Rodgers is going to be our star wing and why we didn’t need Egor anyway (I love Ty I’m just using him as an example here). Let’s still go get ourselves a solid wing and call it a squad.

Is there anyone left other than Jamir Watkins that fits the alpha wing type player we’re looking for? Feel like it’s him or bust now…

Do we not have Shad Khan or an alumni with mega deep pockets backing us? Might as well get him his honorary degree he wanted so we don’t leave that bridge burned. I mean, Arkansas has Tyson, Houston has Fertita, etc. we need a mega backer…that’s pretty much what it comes down to now. Otherwise we’re going to have more misses like this.

Okay insiders, I'm really curious. How many donors are there contributing big dollars for our NIL fund? Is it like 5 guys donating 80% of the money, or is it more spread out than that?
I'll guarantee it's not coming from many of the people bitching about not paying $2M for a 17 year old kid to play for one year. Anyway, I'm not a big money kinda guy, but I'll issue the small donor challenge to the board. I ponied up at the lowest level. A bunch of you seem to be idle rich with all the time you spend on here. Join me.

Much easier to be an alpha and have everything run through you at BYU vs our roster.....$2m certainly doesn't hurt either.

I’ve seen some on here mention that this team has a lot of good parts but is missing an alpha or go-to scorer. I’m not trying to criticize that and am honestly curious about this. Who was the alpha/go-to scorer on UConn this year? I feel like their best weapon was their depth in quality pieces and balance.
They had like 5 of them.

Thankfully "Team of the Decade" is not the bar we have to hit in order to achieve success.

Nonetheless, it's not fun to be sitting here staring down the barrel of yet another offseason going by where the absolute core #1 thing we were targeting to add ends up a total miss (I hope we're not there yet, but the idea we're standing hat-in-hand outside the NBA combine doesn't inspire much confidence).

We don't have the horses as things stand, in addition to the big positional hole on the team.

So if reports are accurate, we still have upwards of $1M to spend on a wing for the TJ role, ie get out in transition, shoot 3s, and attack driving lanes (our spacing should be just as good if not better this year). I think we’ve got a great sell and a nice bag, I’m confident we will get someone good. If other teams can outbid us, no reason we can’t outbid another team and steal their wing. Still think we will be fine. $2M for an unproven 18YO is insane.

Also, did the '05 team have an alpha? Maybe Williams? I am not an expert at this so I am sure someone will correct me.

This isn't the be-all, end-all statistically, I was just curious as an exercise.

Domask and TSJ returned for last season with total career points scored in NCAA basketball of 1,615 and 1,449, respectively. (1,280 for Guerrier)

Our roster for next year by total career NCAA points:

Tre White - 653
Kylan Boswell - 508
Ben Humrichous - 352
Ty Rodgers - 342
Jake Davis - 297
Carey Booth - 211
Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn - 66

Total - 2,429

That's more than I thought actually, but you get the point.

Coleman isn't coming back

Our money is either going to go to someone in the combine that's pulling out or someone that is already committed. They want this done in the next two weeks, so moving on it now.
Last day to withdraw from the draft and retain college eligibility is May 29th, so these next two to three weeks are critical. It was June 12th last year - I guess this help teams know earlier what their rosters will look like.

Bruh....I get what you're saying but they've got 2 top-10 draft picks & 4 first-rounders & are in the convo for one of the greatest teams/seasons ever. Their greatest weapon was that they had A LOT of NBA-level players. Not the same thing as having several good, complimentary pieces like next year's Illini roster has.
