Understand people want to be positive but anyone thinking this offseason was anything but a massive failure is delusional. This is a bubble team

Fringe top 100 recruit out of an Ohio HS, played at Dayton as a freshman then transferred to USF.

Long, tangle of limbs kind of player, good shooter/skill level for this size, really lacks strength, seems disinclined to play through contact.

I liked Jake Davis' tape better, he popped at the college level immediately, this guy seems to just kinda be drifting his way through.

The offseason isn't over. Yet.
Maybe a less athletic, slightly more skilled RJ for comp?

If he’s our mystery wing we are in trouble but his size, playmaking and shooting seems to fit how we want to play. If he’s down to be a developmental piece as our 9th/10th guy I’m all for it. Get him in here and get him fletched and see what we’ve got.

Speaking as someone with an Argentinian mother, the majority of Argentinians trace their ancestry back to Europe anyway. I'd say we get grandfathered in.
Very true. Mostly from Germany, Spain, Italy, and France. Something like 97% of Argentinians trace back to European ancestry.

It is funny how that's a generic term for "foreign basketball player"

The Eurostep, popularized by Argentinian Manu Ginobili.
Eh? But he didn't invent it, and that's not who it was named for. A Lithuanian "invented"/popularized it in like the 80s or 90s; I forget the name.

Edit: I guess the Eurostep has its own Wiki page, and Ginobli did, indeed, popularize it in N. America. Honestly had no idea. I've always read of it coming from European leagues, which it did, but anyway. . . Whatever.

Well at least Sharavjamts is a good passer. We should always be loading up on playmaking wings.

That's who came to mind for me too, watching this tape. Good athlete, good length, perhaps a little too willing to stand outside and shoot 3's. Probably needs to get stronger to be an impact player.

I am, however, a sucker for a guy who likes to use the backboard from the mid-range wing.

A lot of Slovenians, too! We even have our own Slovene-Argentine wiki page (which amuses the hell out of me).
Such a cool country, and on my bucket list of places to go someday, especially after learning so much about it from years of tango.

in language a 10 yr old can understand, how does a ncaa basketball team pay an european
kid NIL money? i was led to believe that foreign born players coming to the us for school were
on visa's that prevented this sort of thing.

We don’t have a quality SG unless DGL makes a huge leap. At tge moment we have only two legit guards on the roster.

At this point, i wish Sencire or Butler had stayed.
I mean last year we only had DGL and Nico as true guards and used Domask, Ty and TSJ to do most of the ball handling.

This year we have Boswell, 2nd yr DGL, Ty and like an insider mention will probably add 2 more guards/wings. That is more guard play than last year, granted Domask and tsj up for it.

hard pass on mongo mike - fun to root for, but a third year guy who imo needs another year with fletch to contribute meaningfully/consistently

we have 6 guys committed and signed from the portal, but what is the level of commitment (meaning can they get out and start negotiating again)? Is it the same as, similar for different than the 2 High school signees? (letter of intent)

It was like magic when he started doing it to longer, more athletic defenders in the NBA. Now you see me, now you don't.
