Agree ... Would you take him over Mongolian Mike ... That's the question and it's a no brainer IMO ...
Baba Miller: 6'11" sophomore, 7.6/4.9/1.4, shot 44.9/29.3/55.7, in 24.7 mpg, 46 assists to 51 turnovers.

Mongolian Mike: 6'8" sophomore, 7.7/3.0/2.7, shot 42.4/36.0/82.4, in 25.6 mpg, 91 assists to 49 turnovers.

Perhaps a no brainer in favor of Miller... but it might be a question of whether you want/need a better ballhandler, passer, 3-point shooter, and free throw shooter to fill more of a (tall) combo guard position on the roster. Miller might overlap too much with some other players already on the roster, i.e. Booth, Humrichous, Tre White, Jake Davis, and Ty Rodgers.

How bout some position-less defensive BB.Hum could play 2 or 3 on offense,defend 4 on defense.Ty,Trey,could guard wings,etc.
People get really hung up on the idea that you have to guard the same guy that guards you. Today's offenses are designed to try and create mismatches anyway. You can't hide a bad defender.
That said, there is very little chance we go into the season without having added another quality guard (or two).

I am also one who was very encouraged by what we saw out of DGL toward the end of the season. He is in line for a much bigger role this year. He has a little Trent Frazier to him in terms of fearlessness and work ethic. He's not the biggest guy, but he doesn't seem to care.

I'd guess not much will change until this weekend. The primary remaining targets are in Chicago for the combine through Thursday. Once that has concluded, we will have a lot better idea who is coming back to school.

I have some questions about Jake Davis. I really like his highlight videos. I like that he's only a freshman, and that he has 3 years of eligibility left. And I'm glad that he transferred to Illinois. (y) But his transfer happened so quickly! Did staff have their eyes on him for a while? Did one of our coaches have a pre-existing relationship with Davis? What exactly did BU and staff see in him, about his game, that made them like him so much? I'm just hoping that someone has some inside info on these questions about the Jake Davis transfer to Illinois. Thanks.

P.S. It's always good to get an Indiana kid on our roster. :)

5th in the ACC in personal fouls, something tells me his D will struggle. If we are down to Baba Miller and Mongolia Mike, I think the expectations are being lowered.
I think a lot of that goes with growing pains of learning the college game and what is called a foul - plus how FSU used him as a rim protector to block shots which drew a lot of fouls

I'd be excited to have him on the team and use him as a perimeter defender that would be very hard to shoot over, clog up passing lanes with his wingspan and even if he's getting beat on the drive he can recover with his length and we have Big T this year in the middle. I think defense could be one of the more exciting aspects of his game if we can use him the right way

Offensively - if he can make a Coleman like leap in his 3 pt shooting - he would be very intriguing, what that would open up for his dribble drive and lob dunk game. I think he's worth the risk for the upside unless he's asking for something out of line in terms of role or money, I think Brad and staff could make him into a mid first round pick next year in the draft

Brad will figure it out. I’d like to see Ben play the two also because I think he could mimic what Marcus did and he is a better shooter. I hate saying that about Marcus, no disrespect because he’s one of my favorites but that’s how I see it.

There have been some posters thinking that Ben would not have success against Big Ten defenders, we don’t know that yet. They may be right. We shall wait and see, but I am thinking that he would have success at the Two position.

All I gotta say is really, who cares about Humrichous' minutes and what he was promised before Coleman was more clear about coming back to college? If Ben H wasn't on his last year of eligibility, there's a not insignificant chance that he could transfer out of here to a different school next season anyways. Same with Booth.....If Coleman coming back would've screwed Ben or Booth over, that's a price as a program we should be absolutely fine with.

The fact of the matter is that this team is significantly better next year if Coleman is on it.....I understand our insiders saying it wasn't about money at the end but you take care of a guy like Coleman who showed a lot of loyalty to this program and you back up the BRINKS truck, no questions asked for him. You make him say NO to returning to *his* school while being paid absolute top dollar NIL in the country.

We "supposedly" have the most NIL in the B1G behind IU ight? Well, using the lion's share of that to bring back your 5th year do it all big man, who just so happens to be your winningest player since the 2000s seems like a good use of that NIL to me.

Brad might've been unprepared for the possibility of Coleman coming back, but that's on him ultimately. No big hate to Coleman for playing his final year in a different college uniform, but Brad deserves ALL of the smoke for even letting it happen.

I believe Jake played AAU ball with DGL previously, so there was likely some interaction during that recruitment.

They met him in a hotel room in Minneapolis.

Pretty sure Indy was talking about Jaxson Robinson yesterday night. There's only 3 guys that we even know the names of - players that transferred, after their coach transferred: DJ Wagner, Jaxson Robinson, Jaylen Wells.

DJ Wagner - it's been pretty clear that we aren't targeting him. Jaylen Wells - nobody expected him to be a lock for Stanford. Robinson's the only guy that fits that bill.

As for Baba Miller - do we really need another 4?

Just because it seemed to happen quick to the public doesn't mean it was actually quick.

Not an insider (clearly...), but I believe that the staff always has eyes on guys from around other schools, particularly low and mid-majors, looking for those diamonds in the rough. From what has been said about him, the staff was very impressed with his ability to shoot. Apparently, Davis has a quick release and can shoot of the bounce, while moving, as well as with feet set "catch and shoot". I believe that it was Indy who made a comment regarding Slim Jake's record of 38 straight 3's made at practice, saying that Davis could likely beat it. He is also long, so he can shoot over the top of smaller guards. I also think that they like his potential to develop, as he is still young.
