There seems to be a lot of out of work Division I head coaches on here that are offering their services to Brad to let him know what he should do, how he should spend NIL dollars, and if only they were involved could have closed on all potential prospects without fail. Keep all the good advice coming guys. He will listen eventually. I just wanted to thank you all so you don't stop offering all the great advice.
Kind of the way I feel about it all...or getting there rapidly. Not a soul understands how soon we will need 20-30 million in NIL to compete if the current setup continues. It may not stop anywhere near there either as greed and irrational thinking have prevailed quickly in this environment.

Sure, I will watch Illini games at every opportunity next year...but with less passion than at any time in the past 70 years. Purdue may be the only recognizable team we play next year in the B1G. There will be some epic coaching failures and successes as they all scramble to fit pieces together as they cringe at the daunting challenge...and fortunately, BU is a bit more ahead of the curve than most others in that regard It will peak my interest, but not my passion.

It appears from the interview that Brad got talent and positional size with shooting. Brad’s five core players from the interview are Booth, Tomislav, Ben, White (going to teach booty ball), and you know Boswell will start. Only looking for one more player now; an action guy on the perimeter. Already too deep of a bench. One more high major game on schedule.

Watkins by a mile, but NBA GM's would also much rather have Watkins. Probable first rounder IMO.

Wells is a better shooter but Watkins is better at everything else on the basketball floor.
Agree . . . Watkins would be a game changer, but Wells is more likely to come back to college

Wells is not helping himself in the athletic testing at the combine - his lane agility and shuttle run times were slower than Zach Edey for reference (yikes!) he did well in the shooting drills though
Watkins had a really slow shuttle run (one of the worst) but did well on lane agility and three quarter sprint, was not good on the vertical leaps though and did not do well in the shooting drills overall

Point being - neither one are athletic freaks that will jump up draft boards based on their athletic testing when the NBA teams run their analytic models, Watkins is more likely to get a first round grade based on what he did on the floor last year

I can't help with NIL at that level, so I am instead planning to contribute to the cause by sending Coach U -- free of charge -- some baseline-out-of-bounds plays. They're from the golden age of hand written notes so I am going to have to digitize them first.

Anyways, I am expecting this will help a lot since it's hard to keep track of all them intricacies of basketball with only a few assistants and, too, them fellers is mostly scouting around the globe as I understand it. So getting some plays sent in from the brain trust here on the Board could be a godsend.

Knowing Coach as I do, I can tell y'all he'll be pleased as punch.

Play a 10 deep, keep Jakstys and Jake in the limited minutes/redshirt role, leave 1 open. What's the problem with that?
People always talk about playing 10 deep. Do any P5 teams actually play 10 deep once conference play starts? The last team that I remember playing 10 deeps was Calipari's wave experiment. He very clearly said "Never again" after the season.
