I am just one of many posters on here who's input doesn’t count……at least for much.

Okay...?

So what does "better pro prospect" do anything for us over "bigger impact next year"?

...Don't get me wrong, I've been on here really wanting him too. I get the want for him...but just wish people stop talking like he's TSJ or something.

Egor has a chance to be a lottery pick next year but how big of an impact do most 18 year olds have. I like the talent but I don’t think we should spend 1.5-2 million on him

Watkins has already put up good numbers in college and is a proven player. Also has 2 years of eligibility left

I hardly think we’re desperate. We have a solid roster, we’re likely going to add to it, and a coaching. staff that knows how to get the best out of their players.

Also, “save our bacon” gave me a chuckle. Been a while since I’ve heard that expression. 🤣
We do have a very solid roster, at least at positions 1, and 3-5. We however have a gigantic hole at SG. I don't think we're desperate, but getting the right guy to fill that spot could make a huge difference in next year's performance.

I completely agree. I don't understand how anybody that looks at this objectively without the orange and blue glasses thinks any differently
Name 9 better rosters without big questions

No one is saying we are the favorite to win the conference. Just off the top of my head Iowa Minnesota Nebraska Northwestern all lost a lot PSU didn’t have much last year

Given the trajectory of the thread during May I force myself to stumble through it once a day 'round 7-ish before proceeding to drink heavily, but it's a post like this that makes it all worthwhile. I have absolutely no idea what it means but it mixes zoology with Asian art implying Lord knows what and I'm all for that in a hoops recruiting thread.

An anthropomorphic turtle and ambiguously South Asian visage. Commentary on our deficiency in speed and release at the 2 and a need for a BOOM there? On BU's alleged plodding pace to fill the roster? A concern about possible salmonella transmission? A thinly-veiled allusion to the impulse of many to retract their heads into their shells during May to avoid disappointment or predation? The facial impression implies curiosity, placidity, or perhaps simply heavy sedation.

All that's clear is that I will not sleep soundly tonight.
Shrooms are awesome in moderation, my friend........Party hearty I always say.....
I really really do...

I mean if it's the right 18 year old surrounded by talent then they can have a huge impact.

Brandon Miller was pretty phenomenal as similarly sized guard two years ago.

Then you obviously have guys like Derrick Rose and Melo though those are obviously #1 pick caliber talents(didn't know that until college though).

People always talk about playing 10 deep. Do any P5 teams actually play 10 deep once conference play starts? The last team that I remember playing 10 deeps was Calipari's wave experiment. He very clearly said "Never again" after the season.
Purdue in 2022
It looks like they were down to a 9 man rotation by mid season. They did start with 10.

Doesn't really make sense to me at all. As we had player after player announce a transfer, we were told, coach needs to bring in the best players. If anyone doesn't like that, they can leave. Now it's, well there's new guys, I don't want to take their minutes. That makes no sense if the coach just wants the best players and everyone else can deal with it.

Coleman is just being polite instead of saying, been there done that, I want to try something new.

PG: Boswell (starting PG from top 10 team)
SG: DGL
3: Ty, Tre White (12 & 6 at a P5)
4: Humdinger (15 & 5 in MVC - same as junior Domask), Booth
5: Ivisic (21-yo experienced 7-footer), Morez (top 30 recruit)

We obviously need another guard (tho Ty can guard a 2), but if these guys can play together, they can be really good.

So many overlooking DGL. I know if he has a static, stuck in neutral season next year, doing what he did last year, it won't be of much use. But never count out someone with his skills and determination. He is not without a brain either. Never dismiss someone with a dream and elite work ethic. No one knows the jump he will make, but for sure, he wants to play and showed, at the end of the season, that he is learning what he can and should do on the floor. Regardless, we need another guard. It would be a good thing if Nico took another shot....three guards would work.

Rose and Anthony are a whole different level of player. Also look at college basketball now it’s dominated by older players.
