I mean sure, I guess.

If we throw a bag at Wells we weren't willing to throw at Storr (an inarguably better player even considering his faults) we've kind of clowned ourselves, but we are desperate in this moment.

Wells is not a superstar and is kind of a one-tool player as a standstill shooter. He's also kinda not really a guard so you still squint a little bit in terms of lineup construction.

But any port in a storm, he would save our bacon here.
Wells is more of a SG than you make him out to be. Watch the Arizona or ISU highlights. He does need to develop a more consistent motor at times. I believe he will have more open shots in BUs system

Agreed, but we will land someone this time. And I am pretty confident it'll be someone good. Should see some movement here after the combine
I'm no expert/insider, but isn't SG the position that is the easiest to fill?
Not by a great player of course, but I think we're only expecting "very good"

And Brad can use the "final piece" argument, IMO and it would be true.

That's a b.s. take imo. Any team he goes to is not expecting him to be there. Just spin. He wants to move on. It is what it is.
I truly wish the best for him in his final year...up until UNC hits the Sweet 16. He put his time in and is a true I4L. Unlike others that go to another team in the same conference

I don’t think it’s BS. But, I know what you mean. He’s def, over it, here…I’m sure he’s probably saying that to help the medicine go down as much as anything..But he’s got a point. We’ve got a team of mostly 3-5(s). & CH ain’t no shooting guard.

If our new transfer guys came here under the conditions he wasn’t gonna be here…what happens then? disharmony? exodus?
Who the hell knows?
I hate to say it…but we’ve seen how delicate and fickle the whole thing is.

I came here to say the same thing, although I may have phrased it more charitably. :)

Lots of teams have a whole new roster coming in, or close to it, and all the 3-4-5 position dudes would probably feel (whether they want to admit it or not) that it wouldn't be "fair" for their coach to bring in someone of CH's caliber. As you said, at this stage I doubt many of them are expecting CH to be there (i.e., there taking minutes away from them), etc.

The thing I'm kinda surprised by is that BU & CH's discussions didn't include a path where he does come back. Or maybe they did, like last year.

Ok maybe b.s was a bit harsh. I don't think the point has no merit. I just feel like that would be the same no matter where he goes. He knows he's not coming here and that's OK. He put in his time, he gave to the program and the program gave to him. I hope he succeeds in his pro dreams.

Sorry, wouldn’t Coleman’s logic for not coming back pretty much apply to just about any other school? I can understand why it is that way with our roster, but if he goes somewhere like UNC or UConn isn’t he taking someone’s starting spot and minutes just as well?
Well, it wouldn’t apply to a SG coming here now. We’re stocked with bigs, but have a clear SG opening still. Not sure about UNC or UConn’s rosters but I imagine there are lots of schools that don’t have a set starting 5 as of now.

Kind of, but the difference is he wouldn't give a crap about disrupting some other school as a mercenary. Putting his alma mater and coaching staff in the spin cycle is a different story.

Watkins ... Wells ... Kelly ...

If it's not one of those three ... I'll be pretty surprised ...

Some have asked about Arthur Kaluma ... Character issues from Creighton were blamed on others ... They continued at K State ... Brad got this info and confirmed it through sources ... And he decided to pass ... (Good decision IMO) ...

Same goes for Wooga Poplar ... MAJOR pass ... We are not even interested at all anymore ...

Dark horse ... Kasparas Jakucionis ... His name was brought up to me today during the combine as a guy who we apparently sit pretty well with ...

Imagine Harry Carry "Tomislav Ivisic, out to Humrichous, over to Jakucionis, skip pass to Sharavmj... ahh f*ck it."

I would vote for Kasparas... I love his game...

If you look at his highlights (and I know that they're highlights!) He would be an ideal fit-- good ball handler, goes hard to the rim, very good outside shooter, plays hard defense, would love his game as our two guard... He looks like an ideal Illini player in the Underwood mold...

And it seems thered a connection.
