St Louis Cardinals 2024

The focus should not be on an bad umpire, who made a bad call. It should be focused on the fact that this team had the bases loaded with no outs and could not push a run across. Furthermore, Redbird pitching gave up 6 runs to a team that is potentially historically bad. The boys need to look in the mirror. Win today and things are not as bad as they may seem now.

I agree with the bold above , but I can't understand why MLB continues to allow inept umpires to still be employed.....There should be a waiver wire for umps also........if they are in a slump with regards to their on field performance then send them down to class A ball for a while and motivate them to do better.......

Is it because Hernandez is hispanic and Bucknor is black that they are still deciding games with their absolutely terrible calls ????.....

I , myself , don't give a crap what color of skin an ump has.......I really really don't.......I just want better performance's for such an important position in MLB games..........MLB umpires are protected and don't have to answer for their terrible skills or lack there of.....

I know teams have a form to fill out on every game regarding umps , but either the teams are afraid of retribution against them or their reports are being ignored.........Bucknor & Hernandez didn't just now get bad , they have been bad for a long long time .........................

JMHO..............

Anyone know where our regular announcers are today?

Looks like it's just a series that they're giving Chip the weekend off for. Ackerman did say that this was only series he's currently scheduled to call this season. They do seem to give him series against "inferior" teams so Chip may have just decided before the season that he didn't want to call this one. John Rooney isn't calling this series on radio either.

I have always felt that Lars Nootbar is a 4th outfielder. As was mentioned above, he has had injury issues and has had trouble staying on the field. To this point in his career, he has not provided enough offensive punch. I have not looked this up recently, but I believe his best year for RBI total is 46. That does not cut it in my view for an everyday outfielder.

both teams play with bad umpires. their ineptitude doesn't make us better. we suck.
in no way am i excusing umpires that need to be removed from the game. its embarrassing
for MLB to allow them to take the field.

Simply cannot lose a series to a team as bad as the Sox. Even worse at home no less. Good Grief.
as bad as the Sox

take of the cardinal red glasses. we are just as bad with no excuse. they have lack of talent as an excuse, we do not.

We simply can’t lose this series. We really could use our first sweep of the season here. It is still way early, but if it goes haywire this weekend, I’m afraid to say, we will be selling.
the cards front office will not be selling. they think they are better than that and will tell anyone who listens "were just around the corner form getting it turned around". deep down they are also afraid of getting fleeced. look at the young pitchers they have sent off to good careers. they will also not admit to any mistake.
Why else would they pitch a bull pen game Sunday with Robberse throwing the way he is at AAA?

100% agree....all about Union and umpires have one (MLBUA)

It will be a matter of time before the automated strike zone is coming. The guys mentioned above are a huge reason for it

I applaud the STL Today reporters for calling out the cardinals in their articles today.............This year's team might finish worse than last year's team and I find that appalling for the performance's I have witnessed so far this year.........Being a Cardinal fan for over
60 + years , these terrible charades of a MLB team is exhausting and NOT worthy of the amount of $$$ being paid to them........

The lack of production shows in every stat that's ever been invented to show a mass exodus of hitting prowess that's needed to compete in MLB........The list of former Cards OF'ers and their productive #'s shows a bigger problem that relates to the FO.......
MO and staff have flubbed up numerous times with the Ozuna trade at the top of the list and seems like nothing was learned from that fiasco...........I know they got Goldie & Nado , which were great moves , but moving forward I see little help down on the farm......

Walker has all the tools , but I can't understand his batting stance out at all.......maybe that's just me , but if it ain't working then maybe tweak it some and see what happens...........etc etc

The list goes on and on and the losses go on and on...............JMHO................

As a White Sox fan who payed close attention to this past weekend series... I noticed how lifeless the Cardinals looked. You Cardinal fans can probably give reasons for why the club looks this way.

There was a post above about Cardinals management needing to make changes. I don’t know what’s going on with the current management of the Redbirds but I know it could not be worse that the current owner of the White Sox. He got lucky in 2005 and we had a terrific ball club for one season that won the World Series. But except for that one great and lucky year (the other lucky thing this owner fell in to was getting Michael Jordan for the Bulls) Sox management has been pretty terrible at trying to put a good ball club together.

At least you Cardinals fans have had some decent ball clubs for watch over the past forty years (since the time the current Sox owner took over).

We are two franchises with the greatest fans and long histories that deserve much better than what we’re getting on the field. And when you consider the huge amounts of money that players on both teams are making these days (and baseball owners)... it is pretty hard for an average fan to justify.

Hope you guys can get things together for the rest of the season. Neither of us wants to the see the OTHER team in Chicago doing well in your division.
