Illinois not even mentioned in espn articles with sweet 16 as a topic. Purdue only mentioned essentially b/c they are a 1 seed and one of the favorites. Plenty of sec, big east, acc, and some big 12. Iowa state favored currently as well.

Espn bias? Just can’t get no respect? Both?

Now I'm irrationally mad at Paul Klee.
Wow, talk about a name I forgot, haha. Yeah, the whole narrative that we all should chill out and accept late-stage Bruce Weber results (even pushed by Tom Izzo in public, super not cool...) or even worse John Groce results or else we were "delusional" is insane. In the modern era (let's say since 1980 to get a clean nearly-45 years), it is clear as day that 2010 to 2019 is the obvious outlier when comparing it to 1980-2010 and 2020 to 2024.

No love for any Illini...that's fine. I'd say we've had some better players that this list

Every. Single. Media. Outlet. Is ignoring us and TSJ. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but how do you not want a story about #1 offense versus #1 defense at the very least?
You can tell by the negative tone of some of the reporters questioning TSJ's lack of media availability that they are probably happy to ignore him and our team as a form of retaliation. They're adults throwing tantrums.

The Athletic has written two different stories about us in the last couple of days. They also voted our game as the #1 game in the Sweet 16.

Edit: They also wrote an article on TSJ last week.

That's great but that's also a pay for view outlet. My point remains. If we were on a forum that was pay to play maybe that would make sense, but Dan runs a place where we don't have to do that and I'm very thankful.

I’m not just saying this because my very good friend just got engaged to Nicole Auerbach, but the Athletic shouldn’t even be in the same sentence as the absolute biased trash that is ESPN. It’s legit.

I don't know....our game is pretty much being routed as the best game of the Sweet 16 or at very least, the most interesting one. I was watching ESPN at halftime of the NIT game and they had a good segment on TJ.

I think you're either missing these shows/articles or you're potentially being overly sensitive? There are still 16 teams left in the field and a lot of games left.

Dude, you said "every single media outlet is ignoring us and TSJ".

1) That's simply not true.
2) I'm not sure what this message board has to do with media outlets.

We're getting plenty of coverage. There isn't some national conspiracy against Illinois.

No one is ignoring us. The angle a lot of them want to cover (TSJ playing despite the SA allegation) has thankfully been taken away from them so there isn't a plethora of articles about how the nation should be cheering against us.

I googled the team the other day because I was antsy for more news. The first thing that came up was an article from USA Today that had been published that morning. It was a thought piece on whether we should be playing and whether we as fans should be proud of our program. If that's what's going to be published, I'm good with flying under the radar with print media.

It has to be a long day for the team. Anxiety is going to be tough especially around 4-5 pm. Go Illini. We will win!!
