We control our own destiny!! #1 seed in the BTT?

Plus --- #1 or #2 seed in the NCAA tourney still in play too
Bottom line, if we win out and Purdue's only loss is to us, then we'd need Nebraska to finish ahead of Michigan St in the B1G standings to win the tiebreaker for the #1 seed in the BTT.

Man... who all does Purdue lose this year? I know they're 23-2 but I'm continually not that impressed when I watch them. Just game log browsing, they seem to blow out bad teams and any game against decent competition is < 7 point margin. They've won so many close games, they could easily be 19-6 instead. Kenpom says they're top 10 percentile in "Luck". Though, as we all discussed the other day, it is more likely that having a 7-4 guy who is officiated extremely favorably must be nice to have down the stretch of close ball games (ie, it's not "luck").
You called it?

Can somebody lay out the tiebreaker scenarios/rules?

It's head to head, then better record percentage against next best team in the final standings and so on.

In the current standings it would be WI, but both PU and IL would be undefeated against them so then it would go to MSU and if PU doesn't lose to them, they would win.

Hypothetically, the first team we have a better percentage against is Nebraska.

It does get a little more complicated if there are ties in the standings so it's hard to say definitively what games are good for our tie breaker chances vs bad. It's much easier to just root for IL and whoever is playing PU

That sounds like a thing where we are stuck likely playing MSU on Saturday of the BTT, barring something crazy.

Correct. Theoretical scenarios:

Purdue finishes 16-4 (losses to NW, Neb, OSU, ILL)
Illinois finishes 16-4 (losses to MD, MSU, Purdue, and NW)
-Purdue would own all MSU and Wisky adjacent tiebreaker. We would own the Neb tiebreaker, so would need Nebraska to finish in 3rd to win the BTT 1 seed.

Purdue finishes 16-5 (losses to NW, Neb, OSU, ILL, MSU or Wisky)
Illinois finishes 16-5 (losses to MD, MSU, Purdue, and NW, not Wisky or Purdue)
-Purdue would either tie MSU tiebreak and win Wisky adjacent tiebreaker or win Msu tiebreaker and lose Wisky tiebreaker. We would also own the Neb tiebreaker, so would need Nebraska to finish in 3rd, or Wisky 3rd in the scenario they beat Purdue, or Nebraska 4th, untied with Wisconsin, with MSU 3rd considering an MSU win over Purdue to win the BTT 1 seed.
