Seems a little harsh IMO.
I agree with your positives about the illni opportunity, no argument here.
However, there might be plenty of other valid reasons. For one, being from California, that is a long way to go to CU. Some don't mind, others are just west coast people. Hard to fault a kid if true.
Secondly, while he may have the opportunity here, we are still projected, at best with him at helm, at maybe four to five wins. Who's to say he cannot get an opportunity, perhaps not exactly handed the keys but a strong opportunity nonetheless, to lead a team with a legitimate bowl chance?
If he is undecided, not sure why staff would jump the gun, unless Bush gave an ultimatum. My guess is he said no, rather than slow playing us.
