Best move of the offseason.
And with this now happening, Myles Garrett is the only one from the top 5 of the 2017 draft that has had his 5th year option picked up by the team that drafted him.

I've never understood why Wims never made much of an impact, other than being called for blocking behind the back downfield numerous times. I suppose I will continue to wonder well into the future as he is probably not long for this roster.Pretty much. The ESPN article listed Robinson, Miller, and Patterson as locks to make the roster so Ginn would be fighting it out with guys like Wims, Ridley, Mooney, and former Packer Trevor Davis for the 4th and 5th WR spots.
Here is the 2020 Bears schedule:
Thoughts? Predictions?
I'll go 9-7. I think a fast start through week 6, losing record from weeks 7-12 and a 2-3/3-2 end. Here is the 2020 Bears schedule:
Thoughts? Predictions?
ESPN preseason prediction article has the Bears at 7-9 and fourth in the central after GB, MN, and 8-8 Lions. The prospects for a wasted year seem good.About 7-9? I just don’t think the offense will be particularly improved.
Are the bears worse after what some would call a disastrous 8-8 campaign with a much tougher schedule last season? Probably not in my opinion.ESPN preseason prediction article has the Bears at 7-9 and fourth in the central after GB, MN, and 8-8 Lions. The prospects for a wasted year seem good.
I agree with this. Also imagine this hypothetical: What if the 2018 and 2019 seasons had occurred in reverse order; in Nagy's first season they go 8-8, Trubisky struggles but the end result is a clear improvement over 2017, and then the Bears go 12-4 last season and the trajectory is clearly up. Doesn't matter at all but interesting to think about. In that scenario 2020 isn't such a make-or-break for Pace, Nagy, or Trubisky. Are the bears worse after what some would call a disastrous 8-8 campaign with a much tougher schedule last season? Probably not in my opinion.

But are they any better?
The schedule is not much easier. Last year’s ranked 12th, while this year’s projects to about 20th.
They were 6-3 in games decided by 7 points or less last year, including the week 17 win when the Vikings sat their starters.
They were by pretty much every statistical measure one of the three worst offenses in the League last year
I think there’s a solid argument that they were lucky to go 8-8 last year.
If one of their 2 qbs shows they can play, then they’ll probably make the playoffs, but I see no reason to expect that to happen.
Hicks was a huge loss. I know the defense still rated above average, but without Hicks, they were no longer dominant.with hicks returning and Quinn they should be better defensively at least

Maybe he should have seen it coming, but I was surprised at the intensity of the Drew Brees criticism. Even his apology wasn’t enough to satisfy.
Imagine if it were literally anyone other than Drew Brees who said it. Brees definitely gets a little more leeway to correct his mistake due to his reputation. I think random other white qb would be in much hotter water.

For some of us it's not a about what is trending favorably at the moment, but a matter of what is ethically and morally imperative. It's an issue with reading the room, so to speak. Given the current climate in this country, Brees could have used his words better with his initial response. If you all get a chance, take a listen to some of the interviews Akiem Hicks did earlier this week.
Dang Jake Fromm, hard to come back from that phrase. "Elite white people", smh. If/when training camp starts, he may have some issues.Drew Brees had blinders on with that statement, which is unfortunate, but blinders can be minimized and learned from. I hope the apology is the first step in the road to personal growth/exploration.
Bills' rookie QB Jake Fromm on the other hand, that was overt racism and may take a longer road to de-program.
