The transfer tornado STINKS. Enjoyed watching players develop who were proud Illini. My hired hands beat your hired hands. Not what college sports should be.
Playing with House Money is a LOSING strategy in betting. If you are successful in your gambling, changing your stategy just because you are winning is a recipe for giving it back. Too many times gamblers loosen up their betting when ahead only to allow the house to recapture House Money...
There is a reason they play the games. Analytics, analysis, past performance are nice but heart, desire, hope all go toward the outcome. The mental toughness of the Illini gained thru loses and come from behind wins will be the secret sauce to victory.
The biggest issue for Illinois would be getting 2 fouls on TSJ in the first half. With his aggressive defense and offense a couple of bad calls could put Illinois in a hole. If I were ISU I would be looking to get him in foul trouble. It would change the whole game plan for Illinois if TSJ...
At some time in the future many will look back on the three comebacks in the BIG10 tournament as significant moments. It also provides confidence in the NCAA tournament that no deficit is insurmountable especially with the firepower and speed of the Illinois offense. Running up 10 to 12 points...
Fouling may have been the plan if you listen to Underwood's post game interview. They wanted to get to the 1 and 1 with Edey so if they needed to foul they could put him at the line and trade a possible 3 or 2 for a 1. Edey did miss twice on free throws. Who better to run up the fouls than...
I was thinking this also. 38 minutes at the speed and intensity that Illinois plays has to reduce their ability to play defense and execute the offense no matter how much in shape they are. The days of walking the ball up the court are gone. It is a total all out sprint in both directions.
Can't call it a bad loss. A sad loss and a discusting loss. Don't forget MSU was rated 4 at the beginning of the year, the coach has made 25 consecutive tournaments and they were playing in East Lansing.
The 3 point shot and the transfer portal have become the great equalizers. A hot shooting 3 night against a ranked team that gets a bit tight on their 3's and you have the chance for an upset. The pressure is on the ranked team and once the unranked team gets it going watch out.
Goode was 0-6 on...
I don't think he is able to turn off his emotions. What I think he needs to do is get 15 feet away from the ref and turn his back. Then he can jump, scowl, wave his arms, etc. That can be taken as frustration with himself rather than with the ref unless his reputation will still have the ref...
