I understand the appeal for Goode, and I think it fills a massive hole for IU, but he’s going to be buried further than he would’ve here, at least currently.

Don’t foresee Goode getting tick outside the 3/4 spots and mgbako and Reneau probably command 30 mins each at those spots, especially with Ballo eating a huge amount of time at the 5.

I’m glad he’s finally getting his chance to play for his home state school, but I hope I’m wrong about his PT there.

For some reason, I have ZERO hard feelings about this -we're recruiting over him and he really struggled at times last year. Great guy. teammate, everything you want in a student athlete, but on the court, he wasn't good enough to really make a difference next year, so I think it's best for both sides to move on and I don't mind at all that he gets to go home

I have a hard time believing we did not have room on our roster for a 6.6ft loyal man as Goode. This burns me up. Now we gotta play him for 1 possibly 2 years. Good luck Mr. Goode and I'll be rooting for you, unless your playing my school. Your school. Wow, times have changed!

don't like it, that's for sure. but it's not like there aren't extenuating circumstances. there are a ton of them. Goode has deep ties to IU. the academic (MBA) and networking angles can't be ignored either. hope he kills it and IU goes winless

People saying Goode is no longer an Illini for life are pathetic. He chose us out of high school, spent 3 years here getting a degree, and we recruited over him (which is okay, it happens and we want to win), so he decides to transfer to the place his ENTIRE FAMILY went to school. Get over yourselves, he’s a great kid that gave 3 solid years to our program.

Enjoyed watching bro Goode play for the Illini. For Luke, likely a good move in terms of play time on the court. I peg Luke a Miller Hopp clone shooting 3s from the corner with limited rebounding potential.

I can see why coach BU is going old.
The Curbello, Miller, Melendez, Polzemski, Goode ... in addition Harris and Hansberry ...
experiment/experience/developement regarding time with the Illini is marginal.

Actually the Transfer portal is somewhat exciting watching the coaches assemble a new team each year.

I am Mr. Appreciation for people that have been a part of our program, and the same is true for Goode, and I have no doubt there were push as well as pull factors here, but this sucks!

The problem isn't that this is some horrible betrayal, the problem is that given the current state of college basketball, it isn't.

This is unnatural and bad.
