Are you a defense attorney? Waiving your client’s 5th amdt rights for a remote chance borders on malpractice. These seem like good attorneys, which is why I’m saying I don’t believe that they fully expected to lose the hearing. That’s spin.

This shows that you shouldn't believe his lawyer's spin about not being surprised. There is no reason to have your client testify in a preliminary hearing unless you're actually trying to convince the judge to dismiss.

Everyone leaves when shots are fired. That's not particularly surprising. I would take the lawyer's statement (as well as anything the police say) with a grain of salt. Miller watched someone walk around and fire into an occupied vehicle. It's reasonable to assume at that point that someone had...

One thing that I have not seen in any article is any indication of what Miller did after the shooting? Putting aside whether he should or shouldn't have brought Miles his gun late at night when he knew Miles had been partying (I would imagine a black kid in Alabama doesn't want to drive around...

That’s some weasely sh** there. No one was saying he was a “suspect.” I would be beyond embarrassed if we took such great pains to minimize the—possibly minor—involvement of one of our star players in a homicide. It’s despicable.

The Yahoo article quotes police testimony to that effect: "On the return trip, police allege that Miller parked his car in a manner that blocked the Jeep that Harris, her boyfriend and a cousin, who is an Alabama student, were in. Bradley also allegedly parked his car in that manner."

Requesting a lawyer doesn't make you uncooperative and certainly doesn't factor into charging decisions. If the police are alleging that Miller blocked in the jeep as that Yahoo article says, then Miller should be incredibly grateful that he's an athlete in Tuscaloosa. The government frequently...

Supreme Court unanimously sides with former college players in dispute with NCAA about compensation

It's definitely shocking that the attorney who filed the complaint and stayed on it through SCOTUS would make more than the over-priced appellate lawyer.

Pregame: Illinois at Northwestern, Thursday, February 27th, 7:00pm CT, BTN

I think is pretty much spot on and a good way to think about tonight's game and the next few weeks. I really can't imagine that we'd be in the 8/9 game if we win 5 of our last 6 games and finish 13-7. If we did that, the chances of us not having a double bye have to be minuscule. Top 4 in the...

What makes you think they NEED this? I think you, and a bunch of other, are taking this way too seriously. College sports are supposed to be fun. The current students seem to think this is fun, and I agree.

That's the deal now right? I see people saying that they think he stays with 5 wins. If we eke out 5 wins by sweeping our non-con and getting 2 wins in conference, again, how the hell does he stay?

He's responsible for hiring the LB coach and that person will work for him. You would think that it wouldn't be that hard to find someone outside your immediate family who would buy in to what you're trying to accomplish.

Illinois 79, Michigan State 74 POSTGAME

The most egregious example of this, which I still see brought up on this board, was Walton when Illinois played Arizona in the NCAAT and Luke was playing on Arizona.
