Chicago Cubs 2020 Season

I’m still not convinced Jimenez will be much more than above average.

He would have contributed very little to the Cubs lineup these last 2 1/2 years. The only reason he’d contribute to the lineup this year is because the DH is being unsuspectedly imposes onto the NL.
A travesty for baseball. I love the little quirks about this sport. Fields being different sizes and different ground rules, pitchers hitting in NL and DH in AL among other things.

I think having different rules in different leagues just doesn't make sense. all the other quirks, etc., I like. I would prefer that pitchers hit but the DH isn't going away in the AL and will be a permanent thing in the NL before too long.

Less than 33 hours from first pitch of the season and no deal with Comcast in sight.
Could be worse. If you're a Dish Network customer in central Illinois, you can't get any of the St. Louis or Chicago sports teams right now. Dish has been in a dispute with Sinclair (who owns FSNs now) for close to a year so no Cardinals or Blues, with NBC Sports Chicago for about 9 or 10 months so no White Sox, Bulls, or Blackhawks and Marquee Network isn't on there so no Cubs.

Woke up to Marquee Sports Network on channel 672 on Xfinity in Champaign.

They got it done. I didn’t think they’d ever actually do it.

When will Hendricks get the recognition he deserves from the rest of the country? The guy has been one of the best pitchers in the NL for 5 years.
My guess is he'll start getting the recognition he deserves as soon as he throws a 93 MPH fastball...

As good as Hendricks was last night, the pitching was equally bad today. Bullpen is going to be a major Achilles heel to this team

You can tell if Darvish is “on” within the first 5 minutes of his starts. When he’s “off,” he’s complete torture to watch. Every pitch is a struggle.

The number of times he got two strikes on a guy and then didn’t throw a pitch within a foot of the strike zone the rest of the AB... ugh!

Regardless of his on/off pitching status, this year his hair status is 100% on.

The Reds already have Davidson out with Covid, and Senzel and Moustakas were both held out yesterday because they didn’t feel well. Are they really going to play tonight?
